Master Sgt. Andrew Christian Marckesano served six full tours in Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne and the Ranger regiment and a half dozen more combat tours overseas. He rose to become a decorated Green Beret and a Silver Star recipient. He had just moved to Washington, D.C., to start a coveted job at the Pentagon. Two days after the Fourth of July on Monday night, after having dinner with his former battalion leader, Marckesano returned home from dinner in Old Town, Alexandria, and died by suicide in front of his wife. He had three small children and was still on active duty.

Apologies if already posted. Im having to skim.
May God be with him and his family.
Those who have served multiple combat tours (especially more than 2) are carrying psychological burdens and scars which I doubt the rest of us can ever fully appreciate.
Of course there are a few “Sociopaths”, as in every walk of life, who are not affected emotionally by all the suffering and killing and dying around them.
However, sociopaths do not commit suicide, for the very reason they are not burdened with normal human emotions including empathy and sense of responsibility. It is said in the psychological literature that a true sociopath is incapable of feeling depression, for example.
Wow. RIP to a hell of a soldier. Shame he had to do that to his wife though, she'll never get over that. Nobody but the wife knows the details of that last conversation but suicide is one way to get the last word forever.

Causative connection?
“....having dinner with his former battalion leader”
Now THAT is a person of interest...and I would bet is ALSO in the Pentagon
So very sad. Prayers up.
