Georgia senator Kelly Loeffler, a co-owner of the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream, wrote a letter to the league’s commissioner spelling out her concerns with the WNBA’s embrace of Black Lives Matter.
Loeffler labeled BLM a political movement that advocates for the defunding of police, the removal of Jesus from churches and the disruption of the nuclear family. She also alleged that BLM has promoted the violence and destruction that has swept this nation the past month.
We can nitpick the details but there is some merit to Loeffler’s concerns and allegations. Her letter to commissioner Cathy Engelbert is worthy of a thoughtful response.
Instead, the WNBA issued a terse statement stating its commitment to advocating for social justice and concluded by distancing the league from the U.S. senator.
“Sen. Kelly Loeffler has not served as a Governor (owner) of the Atlanta Dream since October 2019 and is no longer involved in the day-to-day business of the team.”
The WNBA Players Association was even less thoughtful, tweeting:
“E-N-O-U-G-H! O-U-T!”
Loeffler is a pariah now on the level of the NBA’s disgraced owner Donald Sterling. All because she has the audacity to question the agenda, goals, methods and results of Black Lives Matter. Loeffler’s crime is knowledge and information. She’s looked beyond the slogan, examined BLM’s stated agenda on its website and wondered if it’s wise for a wannabe mainstream sports league to embrace BLM.
She committed a thought crime. The mob now wants to cancel her.

They used to call this, the inmates running the asylum. Anytime the employees can determine the direction of the ship by force or threat, then it indicates a lack of leadership and ownership. This is why unions have flourished in our society, through strong armed tactics.
I fail to understand how a group of people that make their living getting away with hitting and harming people should be allowed by a business to determine the business theology. The owners should file bankruptcy, let the teams fold, the owners are all millionaires and wouldn’t miss the money as it recoups in the insurance they have, and take the soapbox away from them. If the employees continue in the direction they are going, they will lose their gate and fold anyway. Look what Colin did for the NFL as their gate went toilet. It’s the same approach with this one and they do not have near the gate the NFL had. Women’s basketball has a history of leagues folding. History can repeat itself. And the clock didn’t pause for one second. Nothing worse than an out of work goon. Or in this case, maybe not.

I love Doug Collins who is running against Lofler in the primaries, but for this brave Senator to take a stand against BLM took guts. Name one other US Senator that has come out and called the BLM organization Marxist and against families and God? One other?

The color version took me about 2 minutes.
I just got back from Winder and a Meet and Greet with Kelly Loeffler and she spoke out specifically BLM is an extortion mob that is part of the democrat party. I was surprised that she was truly passionate about her stance.
I was amazed at how tall and skinny she was as well.
There were about 50 - 60 people in attendance with a good showing of law enforcement and local county commissioners.

They are part of it. The way my company reacted almost immediately to COVID also was peculiar.
Whitlock and Kelly Loeffler both have guts. We need more people like them to stand up and fight the leftist fascists.

I’ve planned, and saved. Retirees who have gone before me tell me not to wait too long. I’m kind of addicted to the check, so I understand the fear of giving it up. 45 years of work, without so much as a layoff, it’s going to take some getting used to.
I’d feel a LOT better if I could be sure president Trump would be reelected.
