A car drove onto a closed freeway early Saturday and struck two people in a crowd protesting against police brutality, killing one and critically injuring the other, authorities said.
Summer Taylor, 24, of Seattle died in the evening at Harborview Medical Center, spokesperson Susan Gregg said.

Dawit Kelete of Seattle drove the car around vehicles that were blocking I-5 and sped into the crowd about 1:40 a.m., according to a police report released by the Washington State Patrol. Video taken at the scene by protesters showed people shouting “Car! Car!” before fleeing the roadway.
Love is in serious condition in the intensive care unit, Harborview, Gregg said.
Love was filming the protest in a nearly two-hour-long Facebook livestream captioned “Black Femme March takes I-5” when the video ended abruptly; with about 15 seconds left, shouts of “Car!” can be heard as the camera starts to shake before screeching tires and the sound of impact are heard.

The driver, who was alone, fled the scene after hitting the protesters, Trooper Chase Van Cleave told The Associated Press. One of the other protesters got in a car and chased the driver for about a mile. He was able to stop him by pulling his car in front of the Jaguar, Van Cleave said.
Troopers arrived, and the driver was put in custody, Washington State Patrol Capt. Ron Mead said.
Kelete was described by offices as reserved and sullen when he was arrested, according to court documents. He also asked if the pedestrians were OK, the documents say.

I’d argue that by letting them stay there and treating it as a closed off freeway the local government shares in the blame, but you are right that it was the terrorists that created and held the “baracade”.

The video shows that the protestors only partially blocked the freeway. Then they all gathered right smack in the only path of travel that they had left available.
Lesson #1 roads are for cars and trucks sidewalks are for human traffic.

Washington State Patrol Capt. Ron Mead told reporters that protesters had shut down the interstate for 19 days in a row. He emphasized that the freeway is “simply not a safe place” for pedestrians, and said he hoped protesters would cease what he termed “unlawful behavior” in blocking the interstate.
At what point do protesters turn into rioters, and terrorists, as they were causing the change of actions by citizens with this occupation that was obviously illegal, and why didn’t the city terminate its existence long ago. 19 days?
Never should have reached this and that decision to allow its existence was made well above the State Patrol. I can promise you the liberals in Washington, basically in Seattle and King County, don’t give a $kit that people were killed and were using this for a political purpose for their gain. In my mind, they are just as guilty of the deaths as the driver for letting the chance happen allowing the possibility to exist. Another intentional screw-up by people that survive on them. Leeches.
