Cloudflare is down. Not a big deal. The majority of the software update starts after UK 12 am or USA 12 am. Somebody must have made some error.
And it affect the internet all around the world? Wow.
My personal experience Heading Cloud of a major company -
Daily some software will die and clients will become jumpy. 30-40 people monitoring team will always fail to detect.
The load balancer will always do funky business.
Somebody in India shut down one server without realizing his error. Here in the USA, we wasted the whole Sunday to identify errors.
Budapest will update one version, Perth will do something and Germany will switch some flag and here we will pull our hair.
Once service provides shut down the site for 19 cents missed payment.
Once the system was down for 12 hours because the network update was not done properly.
Once we had to send somebody to physically switch off and on the shanghai mobile server.
