Rocker Sammy Hagar is over coronavirus lockdowns and said hed rather perform concerts and die from COVID-19 than watch the economy plummet.
The 72-year-old former Van Halen frontman said in a Rolling Stone interview that hed be comfortable playing a show before theres a vaccine.
Im going to make a radical statement here. This is hard to say without stirring somebody up, but truthfully, Id rather personally get sick and even die, if thats what it takes, he said.
The Red Rocker, who in the past has said he supports Trump, says he wants to leave behind a strong economy for his children and grandchildren.
I would rather see everyone go back to work. If some of us have to sacrifice on that, OK. I will die for my children and my grandchildren to have a life anywhere close to the life that I had in this wonderful country."
Hagar was interviewed alongside 14 other artists who spoke about life without live concerts. Large music events, such as Coachella, Stagecoach and Ultra Music Festival have been cancelled since the coronavirus pandemic thats sickened more than 9.2 million people and killed more than 477,800 worldwide. Even as states continue to reopen, other music events are being postponed.
Im not going to go around spreading the disease. But there may be a time where we have to sacrifice. I mean, how many people die on the Earth every day? Hagar said. Im sorry to say it, but we all gotta die, man.
It was shrewd. People didn’t think that way back then (except you :) ) that someone would do something so extreme on an album cover.
He just looks like a working class man staring proudly at the flag.
Good call back then on your part
Do you also think Patrick Henry was using hyperbole when he said in front of God and everybody, “As for me, give me liberty or give me death!”
This has been such an overblown BS situation, I can hardly get my brain around it some days.

And MANY FR still buying into it.
I believe he literally meant it, many people gave their lives in those days
And I also believe it was a prayer especially because he said “forbid it almighty God”
After the, ‘Why Can’t This Be Love’ debut, I agree that ‘Van Hagar’ sucked. The opening riff of that song STILL gives me chills. :)
David Lee Roth was one of a kind; hard to replace. ;)
Enough with the tyranny of the governors-reopen the economies
For Trump rallies, Hagar songs could be -
Where Eagles Fly
Remember the Heroes
maybe even his lockdown challenge Who cover
We Don’t Get Fooled Again...
My brother sent me a link to this lockdown challenge, we’re both long time Hagar fans.

I’ve been listening to Hagar since he was vocalist for Montrose in the 70’s. Bad Motor Scooter was his first songwriting effort, and still one of his very best today.
Along with 3 lock box...
I Don’t Need Love
Red
Your Love is Driving Me Crazy
plenty others and the album with “Where Eagles Fly” is just great.
*****What does that do with what he had to say?
Hes on our side so try to focus for a second*****
I was responding to the OP and his comment. The Red Rocker was much better on his own. Saw him in concert doing some stunts on huge scaffolding without a wire that were reminiscent of a high wire act. Rather impressive for being a musician.
Also, I regret any involvement in such spectacles. I have grown to hate Bread and Circuses.
