Sorry, but your premise is wrong. Juneteenth has nothing to do with ending slavery. It is nothing more than a ritual ignorantly conflating the extension of the Emancipation Proclamation to MOST areas of the defeated Confederacy. Slavery remained legal under US law in any state that still allowed slavery - Maryland and Missouri - as well as the parishes (counties) around New Orleans until the forced ratification of the 13th Amendment. Further, it had nothing to do with the alignments of the political parties as they exist today

Thank You. As a "Native Texan" I've known about Juneteenth all my life. (That's a long time..I'm in my 80's now. lol)
Knowing the history on the holiday most, if not all, native Texans know all about Juneteenth.
I haven't been to a Juneteenth in several years since my health and age doesn't permit me to but it is a lot of fun with good food and good music.
The last time I went it was the one at "Lake Mexia" and it was great.

NOW that it's gonna be known about by the whole world and Lord only knows what'll happen to it.
Likely the "libs" will destroy it.....
