I can not get talk radio on my Alexa over the past hours...keep saying that it's not available. However, music is available----anyone else having this problem?

WMAL online is back on.
###Do you really want something in your house that listens to your every word you say?####
It’s called my company phone-—and my wife’s company phone.
And probably my thermostat, and probably my lap top. The list is never ending and if you believe you’re not being listened to then “good” for you. I will know the proper time to disconnect it all-—it’s getting close but not quite yet. That’s the element of surprise for us...
I have that on my phone and computer still ain’t working.
Me neither. I usually listen on WTKS 1290 on Iheart. Been unavailable for several days. I’m not paranoid yet. It has happened before.
I was able to listen to Rush today on WPHT (Philadelphia) for about an hour when it suddenly cut out. I asked Alexa to put the station back on, but she said there was a problem connecting with it. I then asked her to play WILM (Wilmington, DE) and was able to listen to the rest of Rush’s show without a problem.
“It is amazing to me that anyone would allow and actually use voice and face recognition software at all.”
indeed ... all you’re doing is training the algorithms and storing your personal parameters for whomever pays for the data plus whatever subpoena or illegal access the governments have ..
Y’all should have bought those shortwave radios from Chuck Harder when you had the chance.
I didn’t have any problems getting Rush on my Alexa today. I use a local station, 94.5WFLA.FM. I also keep my microphone on mute.
Even when your microphone is on mute, it’s not on mute.
I don’t own an Alexa and never intend to. I disabled Alexa on my Kindle but have to believe that Amazon is still listening. So when I’m not using it it lives in the bottom of a draw filled with thick, fluffy towels. Or sitting in a spare bedroom with the TV on tuned to Univision. Let ‘em stream ads to me in a language I don’t speak.
I once read an article someplace where the author referred to these machines as: "Stasi listening devices".
I had already decided I did not want one of those things in my home; but, the Stasi Listening Device description really solidified my decision.
"Open the pod bay doors, Hal." "I can't do that, Dave."
Kill your Alexa.
Maybe Alexa is busy talking to your smart thermostat or your smart refrigerator or your smart dish washer or...
If you really want a mind scramble, say these following words to her: “Alexa, ALL lives matter!”. Then, report back to us, here about how you feel about its existence in your home.
Yes WMAL stopped about 2:30 EST.
Bought one of them, would listen to Tom Valentine on “Spotlight” which was sponsored by Liberty Lobby.
Would hold the radio out of the car window, and listen as I was driving to work. (Midnight shift).
No big deal for me. I live alone.
