Not reading every page gives him an out for anything he wants to say he didn’t know about in the future. Who hires a lawyer to read a contract who doesn’t read every page (unless it’s a boiler plate rental contract or something like that.). I think a FISA warrant against someone leading to the surveillance of the President of the United States should be read a little bit more carefully. Rod Rosenstein is really a slimy snake.
He made a few conflicting statements. Eventually, his final statement was that he didn't read every page. I'm guessing that means he didn't read anything but the title & "sign here".

Rosenstein seems typical of many I’ve seen at that level. They want the pay & prestige of the job but not the actual work.

The Senators do not want to be informed enough to ask tough questions. They want their weasel words just as much as the witness, even when he is as evil as Rod Rosenstein. Very sad.
I pray that our President gets a second term with a House and Senate that won’t vote to impeach him.

Good point. I’m surprised they can find people to do that job still. They’re damned if they do and damned if they don’t. Although the blue states are the ones that have huge huge pensions at the taxpayers expense. I bet they all just hang on until a minimum time they have to.

Yesterday I heard airplane noise so loud that I looked up, thinking it must have attracted my attention because it has just been so long since I had. heard any planes flying. There were TWO military style planes flying in close formation. Very unusual.
If the pension was just based on all years’s income it would be very different. The high three concept is left over from the era before computers when someone had to use an adding machine to compute each person’s stats. It is ridiculous now. Each of us gets a full report every year from Social Security so reported income is right there.
Esper might be comparing the honor at being in a presidential cabinet and his new salary at CNN.
