I was listening to him at the top of the hour.
I think he said his current treatment's goal is to make the patient comfortable for as long as possible.
Maybe I am reading too much into it, but perhaps he is telling us he isn't being treated for a cure.
He also said we would be amazed, if we knew exactly what he had, that he is still alive.
Did anyone else hear him?
I’m sure I heard it was lung cancer.....if it’s small cell he has a long hard haul. I don’t know how much the science has progressed but I lost a dear friend to it and from diagnosis to his death was 3-4 months!!!That was twenty some odd years ago!!!
No one, but thank God that he is still with us during one of the most challenging periods in the history of the United States! I did hear the comment to which you refer, but the possibility that he was no longer receiving treatment did not really occur to me. If not, why the periodic absences? Like last week, he announced that he would not be on the show on Monday or Tuesday, but he planned to be back on Wednesday. He did not return until Thursday, but decided to take Friday off because he was so drained from whatever happened earlier in the week. That sounds like he was being given some sort of treatment. We shall have to see and continue to pray for his complete healing!
I think Mark Steyn is as close as anyone will ever get.
He sounds great going into the third hour. I hope he can return tomorrow.
Cigar smoker...
Nope. Cigar smokers are not like cigarette smokers. We do NOT inhale, we just revolve the smoke/flavor in mouth to nasal passages... never reaches the throat beyond the epiglottis.
Let's hope and PRAY we will still have Rush with us for 'years'.
At his very moment, I'm listening to what Rush I believe made famous, the "Media Montage".
It takes demonstrating, with actual audio, the entire mainstream media, shoveling DNC talking points down America's throats while Joe Blow, American, just wants to get 1/2 hour of the news. Its called propaganda.
Today he noted the media salivating over the landmark number of 100,000 CV-19 deaths imagining it will put sleepy Joe over the top.
The first I recall was Cheney's selection by Dubya as VP for "gravitas".
Its so obviously a talking points feed that I can't believe they continue to do it year after year since then. Sigh.
A free press that isn't free is just crap in HD color. ;-(
Rush is on. Earbud in place. That is all.
I had esophageal cancer and survived. Now 17 years. It required radical surgery. But was more like stage 3. I dont think that is what he has because for someone like him would have had earlier detection as a result of more extensive regular physicals. It is preventable and treatable.
Agree. Rush is a national treasure.
I would point out a possible distinction between palliative care and securing comfort through pain management.
i.e, pain medication, probably self-administered.
I believe when one is only on palliative care, then they are terminal. Rush is still being treating.
“Thats a bit like asking who could fill Johnny Carsons shoes?”
No one’s filled them yet. Carson was indeed great. Also pertinent is that the others that are plying his trade aren’t that good. Where are the good ones?
It’s like Biden. There’s got to be some better ones out there.
As far as Rush goes, I will not dwell on how long he has to live. As a co-worker says, longevity is not ours to begin with.
That was a great one. He had a Jose Feliciano sound-alike singing "He Needs Gravitas" to the tune of "Feliz Navidad" while each talking head repeated the "gravitas" line. Hilarious.
You need only look at his most recent photos to see that the cancer has not been stopped. I am saddened beyond belief. Cannot imagine a world without his voice.
I agree. Always a pleasure for me to hear him when Rush can’t be on. I keep waiting for the day he premieres his own nationally syndicated show.
I like Mark Steyn as a substitute host but he doesn't wear well on me. Rush is the only commentator that I can listen to everyday without tiring of him.
A random thought. Has David Limbaugh ever substituted for his brother? I really like David Limbaugh's writings but I don't recall ever hearing him speak. Probably not a viable option to take over for his brother if, heaven forbid, that is needed in the short term.
Who in the world can fill this great mans shoes?
Like all here, I hope he beats this, but one way or another, like all of us he will “go away”.
