“I guess I won’t do this again,”

Must have been highly degreed and poorly educated to pull a stunt like that, but on the other hand, she did realize that she couldn’t pull it off again.

A year after we had moved to Florida from Southern California there was in the local news an incident where a man from Michigan was golfing in The Villages and his ball rolled into a water feature. He walked to the water’s edge and reached into the water to retrieve his golf ball. A gator sprung out from under the water grabbed his arm rolled violently and ripped his arm from his shoulder socket.
The gator was shot and his arm retrieved and was reattached after many hours of surgery.
When you’re in the deep south ALL freshwater lakes, ponds, streams, etc...must be assumed to have gators in them. Why? Because they probably do.

“I don’t look like a deer.”

When I was a kid, this mattered. Not anymore.

Sad story. Stay away from gators.

Did they list her cause of death as Covid-19?

“The death of a 90-year-old woman in July 2016 in a pond outside a West Ashley extended-care facility was the first alligator-related fatality on record in the state, according to DNR.

In August 2018, South Carolina’s second fatal alligator attack in two years occurred when a 45-year-old woman was killed at a resort community on Hilton Head Island.

So...playing the odds, good for another two years?
Never been to Florida, maybe now is the time.

Ironic: Her last name was Covert, which means discreetly hidden. Her last act was overt, not ‘covert’ at all!

She would be a good nominee for the Darwin Award but I suspect that she has already reproduced.
