Since Trump is encouraging folks to reopen the country, why has he not done so with the US government, which he heads?
I have been working all along as has my husband. DOD civilians.
Seems like more of a feature than a bug.
And burning through money all the while.
You arent from around FR .....
The War Department is the only federal agency worthy of funding.
Yup. You could eliminate 80% of the govt and wed all be better off.
Precisely over target
“Seems to me that government offices should immediately re-open around the country. Lets get back to work!”
For a large portion of Fed employees, their highest and best use is probably sitting at home collecting a check.
At least they aren’t actively interfering with our freedoms and with small businesses while doing that.
He should. Many govt offices are working, but Congress is absent (or at least the Dem side). He needs to tell them they have to stop making videos of themselves eating ice cream and get back to work.
I am a Federal employee and I am teleworking. Where I work we are very busy.
Not the ones here in Southern Utah. They re-opened several days ago with certain restrictions.
It is certainly safer for our freedoms and livelihoods for the long run.
I need their useless a$$e$ back to work so I can get my property tax rip off corrected.
Oh, I should state that I live in Houston, home of Old Lady Judge Hidalgo. Cruella Deville.
I’m a DOD worker.... I’m working ...
I’m looking at Rocky Mountain National Park, it says they will begin a phased opening June 2. I have no idea what a phased opening of a national park means.
I’m a federal employee in SF. I have 14 direct reports and our work can easily be done from home. Our federal building is currently surrounded with homeless encampments and other horrors. I’m MUCH more concerned about that than the virus.
One “reconstitution” plan (yes it’s called that) at this point is for a gradual return in June/July—those under 65 with no underlying conditions initially—to the office 1/3 of the time, so that the office will be 1/3 as full as normal. I plan to encourage continued telework as desired, at least throughout the summer. Prior to the pandemic, we were allowed to telework one day a week. I plan to flip that—just report to the office one day a week, and maybe 2-3 times a week later on. We will see.
My thinking is this: why should my employees be asked to clog up BART for really no reason when other employees who CAN’T work from home, and have no alternative transportation to work, would prefer a more empty BART car?
One thing I’ve learned about working for the government is that it seems everything is either “mandated” or “forbidden.” It’s seemingly easier that way. Being a Freeper, I try to offer my employees freedom and options when possible.
Why hasn't he fired the 90% that are useless or counterproductive, overpaid parasites?
Colorado is not Utah, but I would bet that none of the National Parks in California are open either. I suspect the National Park Service is coordinating with the respective states governors. Here, in Utah, theyre opening, and in Southern Utah, they are already open.
And none of your employees interact with the public? Right now I’m finding that you cannot reach any government office or worker. So working from home is more like hiding from work, hiding from the public. Do we need your employees at all?
