Boston Mayor Marty Walsh is willing to reopen Fenway Park and TD Garden for Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins games this summer.
That willingness, though, rests upon non-negotiable conditions: no fans in the stands, and the City of Boston must sign off on advanced health and safety protocols that protect not only the athletes but everyone else reporting to the workplace.
Yes, as long as the players and the teams and the support staff and all the people that are associated with it are safe and feel comfortable, said Walsh during a Friday morning telephone interview.
Obviously, their health is important to me as well. Many of them are constituents of mine, and even if theyre not constituents of mine, I obviously want people to be healthy and safe. Thats going to be the biggest challenge that theyre going to have to figure out and meet if theyre going to move forward here.

Bake the cake!
Why bother?
Big of him.
I hope that voters NEVER ever vote for sports stadiums again.
The borrowed money on these cannot be paid back if not in use.
Willing to reopen... It is now just assumed that mayors have dictatorial powers now. After two months, these arent emergency executive powers anymore. Regulating private business to this extent is a legislative function.
The nitwit mayor says “...safe and feel comfortable...” From what I am observing, some people will always feel unsafe and uncomfortable...no matter what the circumstances. This is a ridiculous “standard”. As I said...what a nitwit.
Idiocy on display.
Between this D and RINO Baker....
Ugh
I got to really move out of this state....yesterday.
I hate to say it but my two parents aren’t long for this world..
When that happens BYE BYE
By D i don’t mean democrat...but such is the same i suppose..
Why bother?”
So the players will get paid. Not all pro sports has guaranteed contracts. It is almost the norm in the NBA and not coincidentally they were they first to cancel games because of the virus. In fact they started the cascade of all spectator events cancelling.
Marty Walsh is dumber than a rock and in competition with fake Republican governor Charlie Parker for the dumbest(Joe Dementia’s good friend}.
If no one is in the ball park to watch the game, what’s the point.
Save money on foul balls?
No fans, yeah thatll happen.
Boston sports fans are fanatical. This isnt going to play well. If he keeps The Pats from playing he might as well leave town.
This is going to come back and bite these idiots.
Just read a college newspaper from the last decade. They feel unsafel when Ben Shapiro visits their campus.
TV money
If Billy Bulger was still in charge, Marty Walsh would be working on the docks at Massport. Walsh is an idiot hack who couldn’t run a water fountain in the Desert.
I still don’t understand why there aren’t a dozen or so camera clusters at various places in the park, close to the action. Sell connectivity to it, for use with a 3d headset or just a computer. You put on an Occulus attached these these and it’ll be just like you’re in the game.
Allow people to pick which cam cluster...Dugout, behind the plate, 50 yard line, near the net, etc.
