This is a great move. Without the FED contribution to unemployment, especially the ridiculous $600/week “bonus”, states will be forced to cut benefits or go broke. People cashing in on the COVID windfall are going to have to go back to work as soon as the boss calls. This includes those employers with PPP money, where they were having trouble getting their employees back so they could pay them in accordance with the PPP loan/grant agreement. Cannabis shops will be sad.
You can’t compare Florida and New York so simple-mindedly. The situations were completely different.
New York’s figures are way down. Florida health official being fired because she refused to manipulate data to show better improvement.

Aha. That’s what it is. I was half-joking that it was to protect the keypad from all the hand sanitizer.
People from two big apartments in my building moving out today. I asked the doorman if anyone was moving in. No. Only one family moving to a bigger apartment in the building, and also several more moving out in the weeks to come. They are moving to Westchester and farther north.
I go out for my sunshine walk and see other moving trucks.
Hubby was the computer admin for a microbiology research lab way back in the day.
The ‘disinfecting protocols’ literally ate the keyboard innards.
They were buying keyboards at a land office rate.
Finally one of the secretaries (of course) suggested covering them in saran wrap.
Voila, a solution that worked.
Later on some enterprising people started selling the clear plastic covers specifically designed for the keyboards.
Later on they started making keyboards specifically designed to withstand the disinfection chemicals.

Here’s a question. I listen to my county scanner regularly. Several times over the past few days there are 2 people on that channel (not the regular dispatchers and responders) - one reads names and the other confirms them. Sometimes they will say a name and that there is medication for them.
What do you think that could be? If it’s related to contact tracing, why use a local fire dispatch channel?
Interesting. The time clocks stopped working at one place I heard of. Could have been all the sanitizer.
