I know all that. But explain to me how an individual working for a living is not “the pursuit of happiness.” Not to mention life and liberty. All rights mentioned in the Declaration of Independence, which the Constitution is supposed to protect.

Because the business is not an individual.
Only a citizen and resident (individual) is protected by the statute.
Businesses are not afforded those rights.

Take for instance, registration of firearms.
Once they are registered they are no longer protected AS WELL AS the owner who registers them.
