Its just the flu, bro.
Mistake 1 - Lockdown We all know that the lockdown was a stupid idea. The curve could always have been flattened by voluntary means and by putting a special emphasis on the dangers to very old/sick.
Mistake 2 - keeping the lockdown After it became clear that the curve didnt need to be flattened and that hospitals were laying people off, then the lockdown should have been ended. But the government tyrants doubled down.
Mistake 3 - paying people and businesses 39k to use a ventilator on someone...giving people 20 dollars an hour not to work when they used to make 8 dollars an hour...trillions of dollars to companies and states. The CV government gravy train will help make many rich, just like with global warming. It also made people complacent about the lockdown.
Mistake 4 - caring about what scientists say about public policy Listen to scientists about science (maybe) but dont dare give these people power over public policy unless they get elected. Buckley has said he would rather be ruled by the first 2000 people in the Boston phone book than by the faculty at Harvard.
Mistake 5 - not allowing protests First amendment is more important that the Wuhan flu and it is more important than any disease - even a future one that may disfigure and kill little children.
I know I am missing a few hundred mistakes so feel free to add to the list.
Let me clearly crystallize this for you. Please answer directly
1. Do YOU believe that the government has the unilateral right to SUSPEND constitutional rights without due process
2. Do YOU believe that the government should be allowed to arrest people for crimes that were not legislated into law (Lightfoot, newsome)
3. Do YOU believe that Americans cannot make the best decision for themselves and family without government mandates compliance
I dont want to hear examples of when these things happened historically. I want you and the Fearpers to tell is exactly what your opinions are. Dont hide behind bullshit. Tell us YOUR opinion
Exactly so.
Doc, I believe what we have here is what they call an ‘influencer.’

Correct. The virus clause comes right after the one which grants the unalienable right to kill inconvenient babies.
"Without due process", no. But there are emergency laws on the books of Federal and most states, which do give due process. There's no doubt been some overreach. And probably a lot of laws need to be revised or updated, both to allow for pandemic responses and to properly limit those responses.
Courts seem to be responding to challenges well. There's a couple of controversial decisions, but what's new. Congress "should" clarify anything controversial going forward.
2. Do YOU believe that the government should be allowed to arrest people for crimes that were not legislated into law (Lightfoot, newsome)
No, but again if laws exist giving emergency powers, then those crimes may have been indirectly legislated. Those arrests no doubt will be challenged in court. We will see if their was sufficient legislation to back them.
3. Do YOU believe that Americans cannot make the best decision for themselves and family without government mandates compliance
I believe "most" Americans can make good decisions for themselves and family and community. But clearly not all Americans can do so. So I do support government mandates where public health is threatened by the actions of a few.
After all, if ALL Americans made good decisions, we wouldn't need criminal law at all.
Obviously, Obama knows this is political nonsense.
The globalists have a ‘honey to do’ list, and the coronavirus was the PERFECT cover to implement their agenda.
They certainly did not let this pandemic go to waste.
Yup. I know a nurse who works in a (well run) nursing home. Internal flu lockdowns have been standard operating procedure there for many years.
I think you’re mostly right.
in the US (except maybe NYC) hospitals didn’t get overwhelmed.
I don’t blame governors for stay-at-home given what was known at the time. It doesn’t look like stay-at-home was needed in most areas,so it’s time to open things up and get back to work.
Here’s one for the seniors:
.
I was in a long line at 6:45 a.m. today at the grocery store that opened at 7 for seniors only. A young man came from the parking lot came and tried to cut in at the front of the line, but an old lady beat him back into the parking lot with her cane. He returned and tried to cut in again but an old man punched him in the gut, then kicked him to the ground and rolled him away.
As he approached the line for the 3rd time he said, “If you don’t let me unlock the door, you’ll never get in there.”
Yes. This is how you know that the current pandemic is not serious: because it is not being taken seriously by those who tell you that it must be.
That legislatures did not even lodge a protest resolution indicates that there is widespread support for those actions. Not that majority support should be allowed to substitute for legislation, but a pandemic response is different from a totalitarian takeover, even if you can't see the difference.
And again there are courts. Some things like the drive in worship services have been successfully challenged in courts. Other actions have been upheld.
We'll see how it all plays out.
I hope the laws are updated to both allow pandemic responses and to limit overreach. Of course I'm still waiting for even a single state to legislate action to verify the eligibility of Presidential candidates.
RE: I’d like to find a site that has graphs of daily new cases by state and/or county. If anyone knows of such a site, please let me know.
.
Worldometer has started adding charts, graphs and county info to the state level data
NJ,Pa,Fla,Tex,La,Ohio are there now
If a state name is a link in the spreadsheet, then there’s lower level data
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/
G-d forbid!
Oh good. Thanks. I knew Worldometers said they were going to have state level pages, but didn’t realize they had started yet.
Well said!
My laugh out loud for the day. Thanks for posting.
Mmmh.....maybe Senator D. Drunkwich
