Good news in Texas - Governor Abbott rolled back the draconian mandatory mask rules imposed in some Democrat counties. So I am thankful that lawmakers are slowly allowing us to have some of our constitutional freedoms again.
Herd Immunity - Apparently the science around herd immunity is settled. It is really settled and not just global warming “settled”. Herd immunity levels are known for many viruses and these levels are a function of how many healthy people the average sick person infects. It is a broad range right now but herd immunity for CV occurs in the range of 29% to 74% having antibodies.

Just thinking aloud here - I think that the way states unwind (or don't) will be a great indicator as to where a given governor falls on the political spectrum, from freedom-loving conservative to batsh*t crazy libtarded fascist, and all stops in between.
Example: Tennessee's moderately RINO governor is following, roughly, the federal guidelines, whereas Ohio's significantly more RINO governor is going to require facemasks for ALL people working (but I have yet to see that state providing said PPE to its citizens).
And, of course, we have the hard-left fascism in states like MI, IL, and PA, where opening of the 95% of the state that has no issues isn't even being considered.
Really? That is just ridiculous. There is always death around us, and we may make small adjustments to the risks we take, but we don't roll up in a ball and stop living.

You will find that all Flubros and Flubras are avid Trump supporters...but we have varying degrees of support for how Trump has handled this. Personally, I appreciate his embrace of federalism but disdain his embrace of Fauci as an advisor.
I mention herd immunity in the OP in part because I think people are now vigorously telling Trump about it. A hint at this is the fact that he wants schools to reopen this school year. If they don’t open this year then there will be a fall second wave at election time.
You are paranoid...I joined FR in 2006...am I a Democrat plant that was meant to mostly lurk until the pandemic of 2020 struck? Then I work to subvert FR into chaos?
The reason why people are dying alone has nothing to do with CoVId. It has everything to do with the unreasonable shut downs and panic stoked largely by those who are shouting from the top of their lungs that the end is near.
This is no worse than any moderate to severe flu season. The data show that. I appreciate your emotional plea however the only thing different between who your chaplain friend is seeing ca when H1N1 went through is the fear factor that is completely unfounded and unreasonable. People are dying alone because some swallowed hook line and sinker that we must isolate.

FReeRepublic has had plenty of disruptors. Many famous. They all had years of quiet membership as well, as I recall. If you truly aren’t trying to turn freeper against freeper maybe you should stop doing so.

His methods are correct. He provides a forum where the actual facts can be discussed and a place where fools can wash up against the hard rocks of reality and be shown to be the ignorant sheep that they are.
He gets attention and provides a counter to the group-think prevalent in the herd. An alternative way of thinking, if you will.
All that and with a modicum of ridicule and mockery, which exposes the anger and hostility of disgruntled herd animals. Challenging the sheep in this way is very effective and important work.
