Good news in Texas - Governor Abbott rolled back the draconian mandatory mask rules imposed in some Democrat counties. So I am thankful that lawmakers are slowly allowing us to have some of our constitutional freedoms again.
Herd Immunity - Apparently the science around herd immunity is settled. It is really settled and not just global warming “settled”. Herd immunity levels are known for many viruses and these levels are a function of how many healthy people the average sick person infects. It is a broad range right now but herd immunity for CV occurs in the range of 29% to 74% having antibodies.

Does the number of Fearpers on this thread correlate with the daily number of people dying nationally with CV? Based on that calculation I anticipate that Fearper activity will be at 50% of its peak level.

Another bad day for the Fearpers. The only good thing and they surely will bleat that the IMHE revised deaths upward to a projected 74,000 by June 1. But this even plays into our analysis. Will post my response once our favorite mongers of fear show their faces. Unless they take the second day off!

We are the loyal opposition to the NPC herd mentality. We’ll be done when the lockdown is done.
I think it is appropriate to have this thread until the lockdown is over. We will also have reunion threads from time to time to help people remember which group of Freepers got it right and which group got it wrong. When the next “crisis” hits it is good to know who you can count on.

I don’t post when the collective wisdom of FR is correct, which it almost always is. I have never seen the collective wisdom more wrong than during the hoaxademic - this led many people to raise their voices.

Yep. Just stay out of NY, NJ and nursing homes and you’ll be fine. My wife and I are both 66 and have never had flu shots. She got the flu two years ago. It was four weeks of hell. She said when this thing started that she’s more worried about the flu than this. And that is still the case.
But we didn’t destroy the economy over the flu. We seemed to be smarter back then as a people.
This is one of the more reasonable threads on FR anymore.
