Democratic leaders in Congress continued on Sunday to remain quiet on the sexual assault allegations leveled against their party’s presumptive presidential nominee Joe Biden, even as anger over the accusations mounted from the party’s more progressive wing.
Neither House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., nor Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., have made any public comment about the allegations by Tara Reade, a staffer for Biden in 1993, that the then-senator from Delaware sexually assaulted her.
Pelosi and Schumer’s offices did not return Fox News request for comment.
There is growing anger from both progressive Democrats and supporters of the #MeToo movement about the lack of response from Democratic leaders toward the allegations. The hashtag #dropoutbiden was trending on Twitter on Sunday - until it was allegedly removed - and many supporters for former Democratic presidential primary hopeful Bernie Sanders are calling on Biden to suspend his campaign for the White House.
Nick Brana, Sanders’ former national outreach coordinator, tweeted over the weekend that the Democratic National Committee should either force Biden to drop out or “admit that suppressing progressives is the true purpose of your party.”

He is the most gifted, intelligent, compassionate person, chosen by their party, to run every aspect of their lives.
They need to be quiet and vote for who they are told to vote for.
The whole “MeToo” movement was a bunch of BS I really hope people see it for what it is..it was ONLY created to bring down Republicans who were accused, as long as you have a D next to your name its fine and dandy, they will just put their fingers in their ears and pretend they didnt hear a thing about it
The Dems are famous for waiting ... waiting ... waiting and then springing stuff like this. GW Bush’s DUI, Casper Weinberger’s indictment, Roy Moore, Kavanaugh, PJT and dozens more.
I have no sympathy for Joe Biden and what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.
But ... my consistent, principled position is that this type of allegation needs to come out early in a race or it should be ignored. This woman should not have waited until dozens of states held their primaries and only THEN speak up.
Not until he’s nominated. If he tanks too soon then they’ll switch horses.

I would love to see this break through to the MSM and be a real uproar and the Socialist Party keep him for their nominee.
If the democraps care about democracy, they would replace Chomo Joe with Nutty Bernie if he drops out, since he had the next highest number of delegates, and is the darling of the communist democrap base. But they won’t, and it will drive the antifa cucks crazy.
Idealistic progressives don’t know anything about down and dirty real politics.
Ya know; if Biden, Bernie, Cuomo, Warren, and Ms obama are the best the dems have to offer - they should just dissolve the dem party now and let America live happily ever after.
The left doesn’t have to fight for great coverage - - press is more than willing kiss democrat butt.
