Yes: Covid Act Now used Italy as the basis for their models (I have no proof other than the trends and their willful “modification” of their projections sans mea culpa).

Covid Act Now led the hysterical charge of this “dangerous” virus, backed up only in part by WHO’s elevated number.

Their site was officially-launched on 3/21 and the first “shutdowns” were initiated on 3/23.

I have been calling for a federal investigation of Covid Act Now.

If your one foot is on a banana peel, it is YOUR responsibility to have a walking stick with you.

In this case the people with existing health maladies must practice precautions more carefully than others. In my own case my malady is age of 80. I was on a crowded cruise ship and the cruise ended on Feb 29th. Almost all of the service crew was from SE Asia and China. My wife is on chemo. We never missed the live stage shows in packed theater every evening. We frequented crowded buffets and Guy Fieri’e Burger joint for lunch. Our dining table was for 8 people and it was full. After the cruise, I have been shopping at grocery stores, picking up food from drive-ins, filling gas in car.

So how I am avoiding getting infected by covid-19? Mainly one thing....washing hands with soap frequently. Even more important, never touch my face with unwashed hands. The covid virus has been found to stay alive for upto 72 hours on metal surfaces. Filling gas in car is the most contaminated place because a hundred people have touched the nozzle handle before you. So as soon as I am done filling gas, I spray hand sanitizer on my hands.

Probability is you are going to get infected touching something much more than air borne droplets. Because those droplets stay in the air only a few minutes before settling on floor. And your hands are not going to touch the floor. But in the grocery store people have touched shopping cart handles, door knobs, examined several fruits and vegetables before picking one to put in their cart. You go to the rest room, and many have touched the lever to flush toilet. Lucky part is the virus can not penetrate tough skin of your hands, but rub your eyes or scratch your nose or touch your mouth and the virus gains easy entry in body.

That didn’t happen.

That was the goal - to make it not happen. It came darn close in NYC even with an extra month to prepare.

So they moved the goalposts to “slow the spread,” for, well, slowing the spread’s sake. No actual reason given. That’s insane!!!

Reasons were given. The main reason was given so often on would have to be deliberately obtuse to not know of it. Especially when one references it in the previous sentence.

Meanwhile, in America, close to 1,000,000 JOBS EACH DAY ARE LOST!!!! Every day counts!!!

This is a big point. Most of America was under the same shutdown procedure even though they were not under the same disease threat. The biggest justification for that is all of the bozos refusing to take this outbreak seriously - even during the shutdown, much less before it. I do think many people have a somewhat better appreciation of how desperate things can get from messing up the economics, but using the debt so much more literally like a piggy-bank unfortunately mitigates that understanding for a large portion of the populace who is left wondering why we can’t just do that all the time.

It’s almost all old people which is why the average age is 80.

Did you have a fever? If you didn't have a fever, you didn't have this.

Yes I did.

They really don’t seem to talk about the two different strains in the media or in any of the press conferences. Do you know why as I don’t seem to know much about the different strains.

Saw an article earlier which said some scientists were unable to find any live virus on surfaces after putting forth a substantial effort to obtain samples.

Just another bit to toss into the hat regarding what this thing is and how deadly it is.

Then you may be fortunate in that you no longer have to worry about it. I would get an antibody test as soon as is practicable.

I don't know much about the two strains (there may be a third which has mutated from one of the original two).

One strain is more like a seasonal flu, while the other is astonishingly fast replicating and overwhelming the body's defenses. It may turn out that the milder strain does not attached to heme thus does not starve the organs of oxygen so quickly.

It is very interesting to see this Covid thread posted in April 2020. We had no idea what was going to be coming with BLM riots, election irregularities and their consequences.
