Good point. Spending at Amazon will not help much.

We are holding on to most of ours until life kicks back in and/or try to spend it locally or small businesses: property repairs, car repair, local hardware, hair cut, etc.

So long as you subtracted alimony paid from your taxable income during filing taxes, and if that is below $99k, you qualify.

Wise move to hold off spending and then patronize those who have been hurt the most...restaurants, air lines, hotels etc.

I will be taking a cruise the moment they open up. My last one ended on February 29th.

Got my direct deposit today. I filed my 2019 tax return in February. I don’t know if that makes a difference.

I think you gave me the first real clue as to who would be ahead in the line. You filed early and received deposit earlier than others.

I filed on April fool’s day, so may be by Thursday or Friday.

E-filers are getting theirs first. People who filed in 2018 and/or 2019 with direct deposit will get theirs first. Then SSN recipients. The paper checks go out last.

I think you got early because you may have filed your taxes early.

I owed tax so did not file until early April.

I e-filed both 2018 & 2019 taxes, but in both years I did not get a refund. I had to pay from my bank account. So IRS knows my bank info, but it was not for refund deposit, so I will probably end up in the SS-direct deposit category.

Any delay won’t matter, just so I get it in April or May or June.
