Some people’s level of aggression has gone through the roof. These are not compassionate, kind people at all.

I get that people are hurting financially or otherwise, but when they start directing aggression at people who don’t deserve it at all, they lose any sympathy and empathy I had for them.

I’ve been around here twenty years, and I really have never seen it like this. It saddens, and disturbs me. I am definitely self isolating from some of the threads on FR.

It's been trending for over a decade. It goes way beyond "Really not very good people at all". The average intellect is so much lower than FR's "heyday". There are still a lot of great folks here, but we ain't what we once were.

It looks like Sweden ends up in the same boat as all others, possibly even at a disadvantage now.

Today, over 1/3 of all worldwide Coronavirus deaths occurred in the US. The US broke all previous records.

Rumors are NY is reason. I don't see it, after checking NY's numbers:

NY Yesterday: 671
NY Today: 778

Many states had increases today.

This is what worldometers.info has to say:

New York City today has reported 3,778 additional deaths that have occurred since March 11 and have been classified as "probable," defined as follows: “decedent [...] had no known positive laboratory test for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) but the death certificate lists as a cause of death “COVID-19” or an equivalent" [source]. We will add these to the New York State total as soon as it is determined whether the historical distribution can be obtained.

I agree. The “not very good people at all” (NVGPAA) are the reason many have left. I watched how they attacked Travis Mcgee and knew we had a festering rot problem here.

I don’t trust NY’s numbers.

No clue if they’re the reason here though.

‘our’ death total went up 13 today. Big jump from the 2 or 3 we had been seeing.

Personal hypothesis. Some people who had been on vents for a while. Likely their families got the ‘talk’ yesterday. I suspect they hate doing that stuff over the weekend for a variety of reasons. So the hopeless cases had their plug pulled, literally. And showed up in the death totals today.

You posted that recipe, IIRC, years ago on the old FR Weekly Cooking Thread. I have made them, and they are good. I bought some moon pie pans to bake them in. In fact was gonna make them a few weeks ago, but couldn’t find my pans.

Well, yeah, but I was thinking a top 10 list should be funny, odd, or sarcastic...

Wally World completely out of TP again. (Made my supplies’ run today.) I’d say 50% of people wearing masks. Only 25 cases in the county where the store is located, 11 recoveries, 2 deaths. WW much easier to navigate than Aldi (both with the directional arrows.) Not sure the arrows help that much in Aldi - with all the “bunch-ups” (clogs) of people that develop in there, it literally takes 3x as long to get in and out. So, 3x the potential exposure. Rural King still nearly out of chicks - I guess lots of people are still preparing for the worst.

I suspect a few that could be, were kept around to spare the families losing them during Good Friday/Easter.

I also suspect we weren’t the only state that did that.

So the lower numbers from early last week onward may have been ‘artificially’ low and today’s number artificially high.

Just personal suspicions.

2 layers of flannel should make for a better filter. Try to achieve an effect where you can’t smell much of, say, an air freshener spray (or the reason for it - hahaha) through the material. It may be slightly restrictive to your breathing - actually a good sign of halfway decently effective filtering, IMO. Held up to a bright light you should not be able to see ANY pinpricks of light through it.

Sense of smell is logarithmic, so if you reduce an odor by “half”, subjectively, you cut the particles you smell by 1/100.
