I went grocery shopping yesterday.

There wasn’t any social distancing about the meat counter.

Most people were wearing some sort of mask but I saw some of the people who had the mask on had it over their mouths only, just under their nose.

SMH

“Further down the line. The idea is to slow the spread so HCS don’t become overwhelmed. “

A lot of folks do not understanding the “flattening the curve”. They are so invested into it is Just A Flu, they are now mistaking the data models projection numbers being lower as the Coronavirus is a fraud. Those folks will start ignoring stay at home orders soon.

The experts think the Coronavirus could fare up again when States come out of Stay at Home mode.

I saw reports where China had to lock down another city just a day ago because the virus starting breaking out again.

As far as I’m concerned, you can take whatever risks you want as long as doing so risks or affects only yourself. Where it gets dicey is when you risk or adversely affect others. Do they get a say?

A minor detail over looked, or just outright ignored, by the flubros.

They have their rights you know. The heck with anyone else.

“I firmly believe that most severe cases of Covid-19 are caused by people being in subclinical vitamin and mineral deficiency. Vitamin D, C, Pantothenic Acid; A, zinc, boron, among others. “

I think you have a very very valid point. There has been articles about zinc limiting the virus reproduction rate. I have been taking C with Zinc since the outbreak.

The allergies have not been as bad this year for me, makes me wonder if C with zinc is helping in that area too.

I will close with saying that you put the Constitution and the Bill of Rights at risk through your weakness and sheep-like behavior. What is this “stirring of the pot” that you mention? Cannot you be exposed to alternate points of view? The fact that I choose to live freely somehow threatens others? Wake up, snowflake...and smell the freedom. As to being a “troll”, I take that as a compliment if coming from the likes of you. Hopefully, you some day gain strength and be free.

“OTOH I figure that after a day in a sun-warmed car our mail is not likely to infect any of us. Ok, it’s gonna be colder the next few days: Maybe I’ll give that mail or packages 2 sunny days.”

I did actually start taking steps in that direction too. I now let packages and mail sit for 24 hours before opening. My concern was in thinking that the carrier could have sneezed on the package, but I still consider it highly unlikely that seriously infected people are still working those kinds of jobs.

China has bought up HUGE swaths in Africa, South America, Australia, etc.

What's to stop the countries from putting their foot down and taking the land back?

Who's going to stop them?

What does hanging or laying the mask in the sun do as far as disinfecting it?

Someone on one of these threads was asking about genetic mutations that cause one to over metabolize medicines and have bad reactions to them.

I found the info. Could whoever asked PM me and I’ll pass it on.

Based on the research, and referring to the Supplementary appendix at:

https://www.thelancet.com/cms/10.1016/S2666-5247(20)30003-3/attachment/34ed069e-7268-42ae-8627-df3aa869d81b/mmc1.pdf

their testing showed undetectable levels of virus titre when the virus was exposed to 37C for 24 hours. Please note that the temperature testing was done using a virus transport medium and not a mask.

There was still virus titre present on a mask outer layer after 7 days.

Hmmm. I wonder if anyone has looked at which materials create the most static charge, and whether it is maintained in high humidity (breath) conditions. I somewhat doubt the latter, as such a charge is not a permanent (or semi-permanent) “electret” effect. (Electret microphones work ok even though obviously receiving a lot of hot humid breath in use.)

I’d think that surely by now someone has looked at what materials are best for homemade masks.

Of note, breathing through flannel (shirt material) in the crook of one’s elbow seems to almost entirely remove most odors and scents. (No to be gross, but, compared to a virus, how big are the “particles” floating around after one stinks up the bathroom? Or passes gas. Or what’s the final particle size of the air freshener aerosol spray used to combat that?)

Turtlenecks can also filter out smells and fragrances.

And they are very convenient.

I don't know how hot irons get. I would wonder about excessive heat damaging the fabric of a cloth mask.

They use the plywood to “cut off” the end of the daily burials. They did a really long ditch, and fill it in as they go.

They were doing between 25-35 burials a week prior to the flu.

They are doing that much a day for the past week.

Hart Island has been used for a long time as the City’s Potters Field.

Found out that a former neighbor passed this morning from CV. This is hitting home — so very sad.
