Flubros! Day 19 (a place for Flubros and Bras)

It’s just the flu, bro.

What can/should Trump do?

My preference is immediately end the lockdown and fire Fauci and CDC says vulnerable should be careful and they might want to consider staying home. Reality is that he probably won’t do that because maybe people will panic.

Worst case is Trump says we need to listen to the medical experts and stay strong as a united nation to completely defeat this invisible enemy. He follows that speech up with a 3 month extension on the lockdown - an extension that he further extends out another 3 months.

Politics involves sausage making. What I think Trump is politically able to do, if it is handled correctly, is the following: 1. End the lockdown at the end of April 2. Extend a voluntary lockdown for the vulnerable another month 3. Ask congress to pass a grossly expensive law allowing those with complicating factors (diabetes, over 70, heart disease, etc.) to be entitled to unemployment insurance/free money payments for the next 6 months.

What is the best case for us and Trump’s policy?

My wife and I were having fun with this concept. Virtually all of the people we know that are saying it’s important to do what the government says are our female friends. And virtually all the men that say it are liberals or leftists.

Kinda interesting.

As far as we are concerned, it doesn’t exist. We are living our lives as we always did.

The whole country had to sit inside for 3 weeks so far to get the Covid number down to 60,000. We didn’t do that in 2017-18.

We have all sat inside for 3 weeks to get the number of Covid deaths down to 66,000. The 2.2mm deaths is what would have happened if we had business as usual.

Well done, CL. I'm just concerned that boys watching their fathers behave this way is not a good thing for them or for society ... although the Left -- seeing no difference between women and men and in their desire to see men become more feminized -- is undoubtedly thrilled by this phenomenom.

I am hopeful this will revert as the weather warms and as the days grow longer and fathers and sons don't have to sit around the house staring at each other and exploring their "inner selves" (a feeble attempt at humor, I realize). Cheers! & sincere best wishes for your and Ms. CL's continued good health! GA

That was a quick resurrection CT. Anyway, perhaps there's a 3rd way of looking at the CV crisis. I call it the 'Taxi Dancer' technique: Those blessed with analytical abilities and common sense shed/transcend their normal desire to embrace truth. Rather, channeling an inner Machiavelli, those who can see the full picture encourage those obsessed with panic porn to strive for even more stringent measures. Reason?

Here's a hypothetical situation - pan film noir: Someone is to try to hang a frame on you, but in the meantime, they are going to grant you unlimited police powers. Question: Do you meekly acquiesce to the set-up and take the fall, or do you use the abilities your enemies have for some reason granted you to reverse the situation?

Why is that no one is focusing on the fact that Trump, enabled by the sanction granted by two MD experts, issued a national security emergency declaration giving him sole authority to act in the "national interest"? That means essentially no congressional nor judicial oversight while acting without restraint as a (semi) dictator.

Is Trump so pure and virtuous that he wouldn't heed the advice of "never let a crisis go to waste"? What would an average man off the street have done if given just 20 minute to think about his options? Now, what about a street smart player from NYC?

Well, how about this for starters:

- border controls
- travel restrictions
- moderated sanctuary states
- re-homed domestic production
- import tariffs
- lower oil prices
- undeclared cartel operations
- $8-10T to invest/re-direct US economy

Here's some math for those less inclined to really think this through:

- 2 trillion CV bill
- 4 trillion Fed reserve window
- 2 trillion infrastructure bill
- 2 trillion China reparations (TBD)

$10 trillion dollars divided by 100 million Americans comes out out to $100k each. Is anyone getting the picture yet? Trump has so much money, so much buffer, that he can let the current lock down last for months, while still maintaining the ability to pay everyone off ie make whole.

So, guess who's going to begin screaming about re-opening the country? Who's gonna begin going on about "muh backward slope"? LOL Shit people, have a little faith.

---

PS Anyone notice a few articles posted today covering (a) the Fed reserve; and (b) border apprehensions, both pointing out the above? Be smart, be ahead of the curve, play the larger game.

Maybe. You can't prove a negative so we shall never know.

The logic that all of this social distancing greatly reduced all virus transmission is inescapable. But in all likelihood that 2.2 mil. figure was floated by bureaucrats who KNEW it would come in much lower than that, no matter what happened, making them look like heroes.

:: We are living our lives as we always did “”

I am working from home.
Before this, I would go to my office, hang out there for 9-10 hours doing my required tasks at my desk. I’d occasionally leave and go fishing at lunch.
Now, only the venue has changed.
Not the fishing part.

If that is Trump’s plan then Trump is an idiot. I do not believe that is Trump’s evil plan. I do believe he is boxed in and needs to change the narrative to be more focused on economy.

You are indeed right in the observation of women and liberals.

My wife (a conservative) goes all jelly gets fearful and starts grasping at little things to regain “control”.

We had an running argument before about where to live during a pandemic,

I said far the hell away from everyone else, and she said in the city.

Well, at least out of this she has seen that if society breaks down, the people in the city will be eaten for lunch. Geez, this has not even been a true pandemic and we see societal breakdown.

See, everyone is so used to “Democrat politics as usual”, they can’t wrap their heads around someone who changes the playbook in increments.
The scenario described above is the EXACT formula used by the Democrats.
Trump is Hitler! segues in to Trump isn’t tyrannical enough!
Note that the FR-thread that can’t be mentioned is titled as “Trust Trump’s Plan”, not “Accept everything you read by QAnon”.
Think for yourself...we do.
[Aside for those in Vermont and could be a lieutenant...4chan/pol/ IS NOT the home of QAnon...did you evolve under a rock, son?]

Give it a couple more weeks. People are not machines. A two month lockdown brings risks that a two week lockdown does not.

It will get ugly. The only real question is, “how ugly”?

Fauci is beginning to remind me of that minor Star Trek character, Dr. Noonian “Often Wrong” Soong.

I completely disagree so all have their own theories. My guess is as valid or good as your guess. So I do not know how you take as gospel fact a guess...that is the danger, and you have fallen for it in my judgment.

Except I am not from Vermont. Sorry to disappoint.

Using your logic, I would assume you are large scrotum. But I don’t.

You apply emotion to posts where there is none, which is reflective of your hysteria.

You make assumptions that are not true. You follow a janitor posting in 4 Chan and you blindly attack anyone who doesn’t agree with your view of the world—which you never really state.

You have seen my posts, but you obviously never read them. I ask you to go find one of my posts that expresses some “indoctrination” wording. I think one of the more recent ones describes the falling TEU’s entering the country. So, based on your view of the world—we would open tomorrow. But the factories would not have the resources to build anything.

If you were to go back through my posts—going back to January my position has always been:

—This is not going to kill you. It probably won’t make you sick.
—It does have the potential overwhelm hospitals.
—It is going to screw up the supply chain and put a dent in Q2 and Q3’s economics.

I DID advocate shorting the market in late January.

Now, tell me where any of that is hysterical or “communist indoctrination.” My view on opening back up is, go back to work, go to church, go run around with the rest of your friends. I don’t care. I really don’t.

So, go back to waiting for another “drop” from your oracle. Go back to circling the “coincidences.” I am more interested in facts. I am more interested in learning.

You are interested in shouting down anyone who dare ask a question. It’s really an infantile position. You have been locked down for three weeks. Grow up, do what you need to do, and stop giving people a hard time when you clearly haven’t spent ten seconds trying to understand a point of view.

I get you are angry. That comes from detox. Send me your address. I will send you a nip to get through the day. But it is really best to ride it out and get the monkey off your back.

Wait. You don’t think Boris Johnson is recovering?

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Just maybe I was referring to your fellow idiot saying that Johnson getting better is bad news for fearbros.

Do you truly think crap like that accomplishes anything?

Oh, I see.

What he was doing, I think, is pointing out that people NOT dying from the Kung Flu throws a monkey wrench into the fearbros narrative that WERE ALL GONNA DIE!!11!11!1

A subtle point, I grant you.

Demonstrably not so. And don't be embarrassed about being from Vermont. Accident of birth, I assume.
