Capt. Brett Crozier was removed from his post as commanding officer of the San Diego-based USS Theodore Roosevelt, but he got a hero’s sendoff from his sailors as he left the aircraft carrier in Guam.
Video shared by sailors on social media shows a significant number of the crew cheering, applauding and chanting Crozier’s name as he exited the vessel.
The captain was relieved of command over the way he spread a memo wrote to Navy leadership desperately calling for swift action after a major coronavirus outbreak aboard the Roosevelt.

The US along with a number of other nations have been actively at war since the beginning of WW II. Finances, weapons, information, and the destruction or twisting of them have been in the works for 80 years.
I live in the northwest, and we’ve had Russian communication ships in our area for a number of years. The latest one, the Yantar, parks at the main communication cables coming out of Seattle. They tap into those and, also, monitor communications out of Bangor, Bremerton, the Navy brain box in Everett, along with further south at JBLM. Funny thing is we know they’re out there, so we lie to them. All part of the game.

This former Army officer notes the unbelievable stupidity of that Navy O6. Combat readiness of weapon systems like a fighting ship is highly sensitive information. Too stupid to be stupid. Maybe an Obama officer looking fora CNN job?

This retired Air Force officer considers him unqualified to command. You cannot expect subordinates to obey YOUR orders if you will not obey the orders of your superiors. The military undoubtedly WAS taking action. Action his superiors had the right to choose. And he went around them.
His response to his superiors would have been fine - as a suggestion, and CLASSIFIED.
I do remember the movie BEHIND ENEMY LINES (2001)...

I seem to remember the ‘Old Man’ wasn’t there to be liked, he was there to be RESPECTED and ‘feared’ (feared in the sense of you recognized his authority and the wrath he could bring down on you were you to ‘screw up’. Not sure how it is today but ‘way back when’, the CO was CO whether he was there or not, he was still ‘responsible’ for any screw ups his crew may have ventured into).
Bucher of the USS Pueblo sort of changed that ‘theory’ when he was to take the brunt of the Pueblos problems and it was ‘learned’ there were spaces on the ship he wasn’t allowed in and they were trying to ‘hang him’ because certain documents weren’t destroyed...
Cheering the departure of the ‘Old Man’ isn’t always a matter of ‘respect’.
The old “Everyone pleases everyone else, some by entering a room and some by leaving it” comes into effect.
As I understand it, that’s pretty much what the ship’s captain was advocating, but I will try to read his original letter if possible. Again, my understanding is he wanted to evacuate all but a bare minimum of the crew, keeping only a skeleton crew on board.
Maybe Captain Crozier informed his chain of command and they refused to take any action, and he wanted a record of his demands for a tion.
You can bet your ass that if large numbers of the crew were infected, he would have been the one blamed for the carrier being non- combat ready.
I think he was acting in the best interest of his crew; and the Navy.
Congress will be investigating and I suspect he will be vindicated.
There are about 4,500 sailors who crew an aircraft carrier.
Looks to like at least 1,000 - 2,000 were chanting support for Captain Crozier. He may have cost himself promotion to at least Rear Admiral, but he will have a clear conscience and the love and respect of his crew.

If they were happy to see him go, they would have been chanting “Na na na na, hey hey, good bye.”
If he got no help from the chain of command, then he should have gone to the Navy IG. But he never, ever should have given information to the press that a major combatant is essentially out of action. Mega no, no.

Not even remotely close to the whole crew which is numbered at over 3000. Perhaps 5-700 sailors cheering this shameful example of a ships captain.
You are completely cluess as to the mission of the Military as well as procedures in place to carry out the mission.
Yep - some laud him for “trying to take care of his folks” but you do that by going up the chain - not around it...and it ain’t necessary to blare out about a potential weak spot for our enemies - if China, or other’s who wish us ill and who want to be the superpower, were to contemplate doing something bad, this type situation would seem a likeliest bet.

Remember back in the 90’s the Russians lazed a US Navy Jayhawk(?) in the Straits? Damaged the retinas of some of the crew. Now outrage from Xlinton.
