Yesterday's thread here:

I’m sure that he is, but the period in which it works is about 6 days.
Looks like my niece has it. She’s in her mid 20s and has no underlying health conditions. She had body aches, nausea, fever, took tylenol and fever went away. Went outside to visit with the dogs and had shortness of breathe. Went to hospital and they did tests for Strep and Flu, both were negative so the doc said likely covid. Will know in a few days(?) Her boyfriend is being tested too because he had/has chest pains and is a big guy in his 30s.
They’re in Florida and Mickey Mouse finally let DeSantis enact stay at home order yesterday. She’d been working and delivers med related stuff so probably essential but also went boating a couple of days ago and on the boat trip were friends with little kids.
Head scratcher for sure
I think maybe it’s time to add to post 1 of each new thread a list of those who are disrupting the constructive conversation on these threads. We can most certainly eliminate the back and forth negativity from the agitators this way.
This will give the mods a break as well in not having to remove posts from the obvious trolls. Why can’t they just stick to their own flu bro threads anyhow?
Not a surprise for us non-FluBros, but still a bit distressing - UK prepares for power outages.
What would be good to know is whether the cause is the lost of spare/replacement parts from China (which could take years to resolve) versus the direct effects of the virus. It would also be good to know just how much capacity has already been lost.
I had a terrible time with it. When you let up on the treadle even a tiny bit, it goes backwards and wrecks what you just sewed. I’m sure there’s a technique to it. Maybe keeping your hand on the wheel when you stop to keep it from turning backwards.
Absolutely. Jim, Please be safe and careful. We all truly appreciate the work you do to manage this platform. There are a ton of smart people here and I learn something new each and every day on multiple threads.
It sure beats going to the twitter and facebook platforms with all the angry diatribe. I used to be one of those and now only browse those platforms to see what my family is up to and of course POTUS.
Phew...

Interesting point.
We’ve commented, here, about how Wuhan/China never lost power, during their WuFlu lockdown/lockup.
Could be because they had all the parts needed to keep their grid up and running.

VA
RICHMOND, Va. (WDBJ7) - The Virginia Department of Health is reporting 1,706 cases of coronavirus in the commonwealth as of Thursday morning. That’s up from 1,484 reported Wednesday.
VT

UVM Health Network Home Health and Hospice, Colchester.
Fredo the Showman.
I would think he’s on the HQC protocol.
Oh my. That’s terrible news. I hope she and her boyfriend recover from this. The virus is horrible, our friend whose parents both got it, detailed out what her mom and dad experienced with this. I won’t go into details but suffice it to say It’s not just a flu bug. Unfortunately the dad passed away and the mom is still in the hospital currently.
That is a LOT of new cases, for that small state. :-(
Prayers that they have only a mild course and recover quickly, Pollard
“Could be because they had all the parts needed to keep their grid up and running.”
That was my thought too, before we had to deal with lots of Americans getting sick.
So, I don’t have any clue as to why they’re worried about losing power, but if they’re generation capability is slowly degrading due to loss of supply lines from China, one would ‘hope’ that they’re do more than throwing up their arms and simply planning blackouts. I can certainly think of things I would be doing.
...but I suspect that’s too difficult for the Normalcy gang to think about, same as here.
NETHERLANDS
“The first effects of the measures seem to be visible,” reports RIVM. “The number of hospitalized patients and the number of reported deaths in the Netherlands is increasing less quickly than you would expect without measures.”
That was a messy clean up, on aisle P.
Hopefully, a *sobering* one, too.
NORWAY
There are now 4,848 positive cases in Norway at the time of writing, with 44 people now confirmed dead. While the increasing numbers of positive cases are increasing, it’s the number hospitalised that is most concerning.
There are 320 people hospitalised around the country, a number that has started to stabilise in recent days. 105 of those currently hospitalised are in intensive care, a number thats also rising fast.
