Missed most of what the general said at the WHCVTF presser just now?

defending the US from attack? now is not the time to try to kill Americans? Wait. What is happening? Did someone do something? Who’s sabre rattling?

I suspect that “humanity” was much less incompetent in those books.

Idk, but I would consider vacuum cleaner bags, they have been tested and are nearly as good as the real N95 masks. Check for breathability

You can always get somebody younger and healthier to do your shopping. Also, if you do go out, prep with Cheesecake Factory Ice Cream if they have it in your area. That chain is in a bad way, so bad they even refused to pay rent for any of their stores this month. They could use the money.

(Nowadays, when I go into the store, I start hearing that clanging, metallic music from Terminator II in my head.)

I think this Stuccato General is the one that rescued that girl that was being tortured

I dont think we still know much about what happened to her or who it was.

There was one chapter that really stood out to me in “The Stand”. It blew my mind at the time, I remember I read this chapter twice.

It was after Captain Trips had killed 99.9% of Mankind, and then deaths not related to the Super Flu were described.

Things such as a young girl going down into her basement cooler to have dinner with her family, they were dead, and the cooler door latching behind her, and that was it, she’s done.

Or a person riding his motorcycle down a country road or so, lost control, had an accident, tumbled down the side a bit and broke his leg. And there he stayed until he died.

So far, IRL, we have not resembled this chapter.

My Food Lion now has tall plastic see-through screens between the customers and cashiers, blue tape lines to socially distance the waiting customers and plastic baggies over the card readers, so customers can punch the buttons with the baggie surface in between. Didn’t quite cover the send/enter button, though.

I think that just like February is Black History Month, and March is Women’s History Month, April should be commemorated, starting this year, as “Wu Flu We So Screwed History Month.”

I wonder which vacuum bags? I have some Miele’s that we’re not using, any more.

I’ll have to do some research.

Thanks.

Yes, my son was a senior this year. He was homeschooled, but he finished his classes (online academy) in early March to go ahead and get his diploma. He is really bummed that Coronavirus robbed him of his senior year of baseball. He got to pitch 6 innings in one regional game, which they won, so he ended on a good note. But still. He’s not planning to play ball In college so his 8 years of travel ball was all about playing his senior year. On top of that, he was named to the all state team, but that game is cancelled of course.

I keep telling him, that baseball gave him a hobby, great memories and lifelong friends that will always be there even if his senior year is a wash.

His friends have it worse. No graduation. No prom, etc. Some of them are going stir crazy at home. He’s like, “No big thang, lol”

“baggies over the card readers, so customers can punch the buttons”
-
do they change the baggies in between users?

My dog has a higher IQ than the CDC—and learns a lot quicker too!

You could try a Miele, staple some rubber bands on it and wear it around see if it breathes.

I don’t know. In the first book, “The Stand”, Humanity was basically virtually wiped out inside of two weeks, then it became a standoff between Good and Evil within the remaining population.

In the second series of books, which are “Infected”, “Contagious” and “Pandemic”, by Scott Sigler, there were some very darned interesting characters in these books. Here there were more examples of how resilient humans are, and I must say this series of books is excellent, with the first two being superb, and the final book being pretty good, but maybe a bit of a let down versus the first two, but still very good.

The infection in Sigler’s books is of a slightly different nature than the one we currently face... I think!

We could come out with a good treatment. The US manufactures come through with a huge amount of ventilators.

A lot of variables. I am hoping we maintain the social distancing.

Yes, lots variables. Sadly, a large percentage of those requiring a ventilator don't make it. It's why I'm so praying for a cure or even a partial cure. And yep, maintain social distancing, quarantining of our most vulnerable, wearing your PPE and maintaining a high level of hygiene will go a long way in helping us get through this with the least number of live lost.

Well, however it ends, it has not ended paperwork.

Late on board, because payroll is late.

Fun way to spend April 1.

Good afternoon, everybody!

Hope all’s well.

thanks. Also a question just now from press - some sort of ‘sneak attack’ on our guys overseas? was thwarted.

I wuz thinking about drugs the other day. Maybe not a lot, but some of those containers sitting in our ports contain drugs. I wonder if we have teams inspecting them now that we have time to do it and finding out who the actual shippers are for later dealings with?

You can also get cans of Chef Boy-Ar-Dee stuff if there are any left at the store. Make prepping fun! And since they’re in cans, if you run out of bleach, you can just quarantine them somewhere for the next 3 days.
