The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs issued an order Wednesday warning physicians against writing prescriptions “without a legitimate medical purpose” and instructing pharmacists to evaluate the “legitimacy” of hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine prescriptions.

“[I]f you live in Michigan, and you or a loved one is infected with this potentially lethal disease, you’re out of luck,” said Kathy Hoekstra, who has written for conservative, in a Thursday op-ed for the Detroit News. “Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs literally threatened all doctors and pharmacists in the state who prescribe or dispense hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19.”

“For Gov. Whitmer to deny Michigan residents access to one of the only treatments that has shown promise in helping patients with coronavirus is unfair,” said Ms. Vaughn. “She’s playing with people’s lives. To treat these patients and their physicians as criminals is unconscionable.”

Now that the FDA has approved the use of Hydroxychloroquine for treatment of COVID-19 I doubt she or any other Governor taking a similar stance has a leg to stand on legally.

Easy there Sarge. I would to see half Whit tossed. I have lived in Mi a long time and I just don’t see the fence sitting majority recalling her. This is a state won Trump won by around 10,000 votes and then turned around and let the rats flip the Executive branch 2 years later probably because legalizing pot was on the ballot. I would love to see a successful recall and will sign the petition with enthusiasm. Getting it on this November’s ballot could actually backfire.

On the road going home from work from Holland to Saugatuck back in the 70s. there was a lot of traffic but moving fast on the four lane. The land round about was flat and mostly treeless. Something moved way over there. Most of the cars screeched to a halt. All the rest had to screech to a halt to avoid wredks. Men with rifles jumped out of a dozen cars and started banging away at whatever poor crittur had moved out across that field. After a minute they all stopped and yelled back and forth for a bit then everyone got back into their cars and traffic resumed. We don't hunt that way down south.
