I went by my favorite coin shop 2 weeks ago. He had a tray of mixed 1 oz silver bars and rounds with Christmas dates in the past. I cared only about purchase by weight. I was able to purchase 38 oz @ $16/oz. It was $3.50 over spot. In better times, I purchased 20 oz tubes for $1 over spot. The shop has sold many thousands of rounds in recent weeks.

In the past, I dealt with Silvertowne. Paid via PayPal. Usually purchased in increments of 20 oz tubes. Much less of that since my wife's diabetic supplies started soaking up much of our "disposable" income.

I am sure the photographer had seen similar images and staked that area out. It’s a good shot. Probably didn’t take but a few.

Darn.

I think that, out of an abundance of caution, SanFranFreakness should isolate for the rest of the year.

Just to be safe.

Italica Grondona was admitted to San Martino Hospital in Genoa in early March for “mild heart failure,” according to her doctor, Vera Sicbaldi.
She also had mild coronavirus symptoms, so she was tested for COVID-19 and found to be positive. Despite her age, her heart condition and the infection, she required little medical intervention, doctors said.
“We nicknamed her ‘Highlander’ – the immortal,” Sicbaldi told CNN.
Doctors say Grondona, who was born in 1917, is the first person they know of to contract COVID-19 and also live through the Spanish influenza pandemic that killed 50 million

Do you know how this data on the Chinese Flu compares to the “regular flu”? That would be an interesting and perhaps enlightening comparison.

Likely people who also moonlight, as home health aids.

They’re working with our most vulnerable population (to this virus).

These infected workers, even visitors, likely asymptomatic while working at nursing home.

A really sad, and unfortunate situation.

Heartbreaking.

“Deaths in US decreased from 525 Saturday to 363 yesterday”

Sundays are lower reporting days. Or people die less. One or the other.

But it was a pretty big drop. Maybe it is a good sign.

Every breath you take,
Every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take, I’ll be watching you:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/cell-phone-data-reveals-which-california-counties-are-not-socially-distancing/ar-BB11VAAv

The state of California received an “A” grade overall thanks to a 40 percent decline in average distanced traveled, but several counties — all in rural areas with few reported cases — have actually logged an increase in distance traveled since the shelter-in-place order was issued. However, this could be partially explained by the fact that residents of these counties have to drive further to reach grocery stores, restaurants for takeout and other essential services.

No I don’t....not tracking the global numbers, merely posting the Maryland daily count releases.

We’ve been watching that. But consider that this virus isn’t replacing regular flu cases, they’re still there. This virus is on top of regular flu cases. That’s the flaw in just the flu arguments. See yesterday’s thread towards the end for my post on flu numbers

Just try finding historical average death numbers, for whichever area you are trying to compare current rates to.

Sometimes hard to find the historical data, but....if you dig around enough, you may be able to find.
