Trump's desire to reopen the country by Easter may not be far-fetched

President Trump’s suggestion that he would like to see the country begin reopening by Easter, which is April 12, has met with a lot of skepticism. But it may not be that far-fetched.

While almost all of the news about the coronavirus pandemic has been negative, there are reasons to think things won’t be as bad as many of the news outlets and talking heads are predicting. Here are some of them:

I don’t disagree at all. My overriding concern is when we can open up and go back to work - the sooner the better.

Yes, technology does allow the truth to at least get out of its stance, but that same technology is used to spread lies. I still think we come out ahead. This thing about Easter is really galling because I actually watched the President live, then spent the next few days telling otherwise intelligent people that they have been lied to very blatantly. As late as yesterday, Jake Tapper (as usual a suspect as there ever was) was claiming that the White House was trying to walk back the Easter claim by saying it was only “aspirational”. That’s all it ever was. The President was completely transparent when he said it.

606,880 cancer deaths in the US in 2019, or average of 1662 per day. It’s been 1500+/daily for decades.

Since the agencies reporting the statistics want high COViD death rates, I expect the number of deaths being reported due to cancer to fall unusually lower then 1500-1650/daily (US) of the last several decades. Same with lower number of car accident deaths and gun incidents since the lockdowns.

The technique he used for getting those numbers is the one honoree data extrapolation or pulling it straight out of your ass

About 7500 people die in the US on an average day. I provided that number just for reference and relative scope.

Of these 1000 deaths you hysterically claim will happen today, do you know beyond doubt that all of them will have Covid-19 as the primary cause?

No, you don’t, and neither does the media.

Worldodometer claims to reset at 2400 GMT. I have noticed the last several days ir extends the day out to 0200 GMT. Not sure what to make of it. Of you watch the numbers NY used to report continuously. Now they let lose one report when Cuomo is preening for the shock value. Italy reports once a day at 1330 EDT. Lots of the EU seem to report around 1800 GMT then supplement one more time. So yes at the Kenny the forecast of 1000 deaths is ludicrous.

Remember there are three lies
1. Lies
2. Damn lies
3. Statistical extrapolation.

Actually 2000 EDT or 2400 GMT is when your states source cycles. One would think and expert in statistical extrapolation would understand the time line of his source

We only have the US stats to go by. If the US says they are Covid-19 deaths, who are we to second guess that estimate? There is no end to this if everything is second guessed and assumed to be a conspiracy of concealment or misdirection.

There is some slack in that. Every now and then there is a tranche of data that comes in a bit earlier or a bit later.

By the way, do you have any further updates on how your patients are doing on the hydroxychloroquine regimen?

Not soon enough. Two more weeks of this unconstitutional stay at home BS (I don’t Stay in) is going to do damage to the economy that will takes years to recover from.
