It is amazing how this virus just stops on a dime when the FluBros tell it to do so.....
Not.
Every demographic dies from the flu. Just not in the numbers of the elderly. Elderly people have been living like this for years. The survivors, anyway. My Father in Law did and he made it to 85 and didnt die from the flu. In many ways it will be very similar to the flu.
Its all true. Nothing here is mutually exclusive.
The problem is, the R0 is making it effectively happen all at once. Flu R0 is between 1.1 and 1.5, IIRC, but R0 has been estimated to be anywhere between 1.7 and 6 (!), making it a rapidly increasing illness. Thus, it is already slamming certain hospitals like flu never would. Combine that with the awful length of time that the worst cases are in ICU (with most of them apparently not making it), and certain hospitals in the NYC metro, southern Louisiana and Seattle have a very long row to hoe.
We’ll be lucky if this thing ultimately has an estimated death rate similar to the flu, bro.
Bring Out Your Dead
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
The false positive rate was 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's or one old farts life, it's worth it.
They had nothing to do with it. This has all been perfectly predictable and it always has been. You guys pressured me for numbers, right now. I reluctantly threw some up. All along I have said we would enter the Recovery Phase as a nation. We have. The number of new deaths is not changing. Its all happening exactly as I said it would. We are in the Recovery Phase.
“way fewer people
total control of remaining people.”
I’ve said it before, there are those people out there who have done the math, prepared and protected their families, and they see the primary threat of the virus TO THEM being protracted shutdowns that threaten their business interests and portfolios.
The prefer a much higher initial peak of cases, with much higher loss of life to people they consider expendable, and a quicker return to normal.
They are well funded and they are actively provoking the FluBro Branch Covidians.
3 Morbidities and over 60 is just about a guaranteed death.
Those are numbers. Numbers just tell me where we are. We are in the Recovery Phase as a nation. Each Urban center is going to have its own epidemic. At the end it is going to come out about like the flu.
thats the hospital that was wearing to have garbage bags
Good luck with that. Absent approval of promising treatments, and assuming this thing is immune to summertime, we could be getting clusters of this crap all summer, as people start coming out to play.
Not to mention the NYC mayor and health department head encouraged people to keep using mass transit and going to crowded places.
Dont get it.
Thanks, M.
If I was in junior high, I would appreciate your humor. But as it is, you are just a spaz. A retard. But most of all, you are frightened by something sinister.
We’ve seen these people use the same phrasing/terminology in the ‘get back to work, peasants!’.
My second biggest concern with this virus is the likelihood we’ll end up with single payer. Because either the insurance companies go TU, or there will be so many middle aged/middle income people who end up with catastrophic medical bills they’ll have no choice but to support single payer.
Yes. This is so, so true.
I'm frightened of Bronies.
I'm glad you've self-quarantined.
I’ve been saying, since this quarantine started, that the only thing that changed for me was shopping. I now have to wait for “senior hours” instead of shopping at 0400. Since I already had TP, paper towels, gloves and masks, I’m good.
I just don’t want the internet to go down. It always leaves me stranded!
