I am figuring at this point most of NYPD is infected and is spreading it to the local population, including other staff at their precincts.
“Could it be the different strains?”
Since we know NOTHING but gross data, it could be anything.
But we need to find out.

The number of cases in South Dakota is interesting because it includes an inmate at the state women’s prison in Pierre. (Source: South Dakota Mugs){/p}
PIERRE, S.D. South Dakota has 30 confirmed cases of COVID-19 but none are in our area.
The number of cases in South Dakota is interesting because it includes an inmate at the state women’s prison in Pierre.
Now, 8 of her fellow inmates in that unit have escaped.
Three has since been recaptured, but the search is still on for the other 5.

“If you are high risk, stay home.”
“Lets not take down the economy with it.”
I am all for do not take down the economy to avoid a Great Depression.
How would you address this, I know of a couple who are this. Both are working in making it. They are not able to do IT work from home (Just High School education)..
So if both the Husband and Wife in their 50s are high risk they should stay home.
How do they pay for their house?
How do they feed themselves?
I am sure there a lot of people in this boat. Maybe the Government need to support those people lowing the disability standard and raising the amount payout.
So true.
One of the proposals Congress is looking at is stopping foreclosures for a while...(or some variation on that theme).

Anyone can get it. KC doctor shares story of his dads COVID-19 death to help others
Im not thinking my neighbor in church or my father, Luke said. Im not thinking of the 70-ish-year-old male who might have a touch of diabetes or might have a touch of heart disease or hypertension. Because those people dont look sick and they dont act sick and theyre very, very vibrant.
Just like his dad, Luke said.
He was 74. He had lean muscle mass, he was normal weight, he said. He was a relatively newly diagnosed, diet- controlled type 2 diabetic, so he didnt need medicine for that. He had survived prostate cancer about 10, 12 years prior to that and hed had coronary artery bypass grafting 30 years ago and was being followed by a cardiologist for that, but his heart was good. He never smoked, had no history with lung issues, no asthma.

“The irony is that Easter will be too latethe numbers will be so crazy by then that the President will be under incredible pressure to keep everything closed.”
Great Observation
Sounds like a great plot for a bad girls B movie!
“It is very fair to say that there are at least as many asymptomatic CV victims as those who have symptoms. That’s been my working hypothesis since those Diamond Princess statistics came out. There might be several times as many asymptomatic as symptomatic. We just don’t know now, and probably won’t until after the pandemic is over. “
You provide stats from the DP and then go to exaggerate 4 in 7 to several times. How is 4 several times 3?
From a doctor working in the mitigation and containment effort: 80% mild or asymptomatic. 20% serious or critical. These numbers have been established by exhaustive contact tracing. There is no herd of undiscovered asymptomatics. If there were there would be hotspots popping up all over the place.
That may be true, but how is it they still lag NY, WA and soon LA and GA?
Mardi Gras!
“No symptoms at the time of test result. How many needed to be ventilated 10 days later? Thats something I never see reported.”
That’s a valid point. There have been a trickle of deaths since people stopped looking at the DP. Still 125 or so unresolved cases.
Have you compared testing rates ? Actual numbers being tested.
