It has nothing to do with random samples of anything. It is a measure AFTER the fact...when the dust settles. And it is ALWAYS an estimation because you never know how many infected there, so you base it on “cases” that are defined and recorded.

It’s not a cure. It keeps kicking the feet out from under the virus and gives us time to ramp up countermeasures. It buys us time at the lowest human and economic cost we can reasonably manage. It preserves our HCS, lets us build warmats (ventilators, masks, drugs, friggin’ IV bags, collect blood, etc.) and gives us time to build a vaccine.

To get a test, you have to have fever of 99.6 or higher, cough and shortness of breath. I don’t know what the test limit is.

I am less generous. What he displays is typical with “loudmouths” who are good at something. Most people are smart enough to known when they enter a domain they don’t understand. They look up, “ Why is it called this.” That’s most of “us.”

Then there are personalities like Rush. They believe their own marketing. And they take off and make pronouncements because they are usually right.

Except when they aren’t. But they will never back up and admit they are wrong...even on the smallest stuff.

It’s a personality thing. The cancer does take away a ton of info. If he is getting chemo...everything he pronounces should be questioned because chemo-brain is a real thing.
