Thread #25 here:

We are testing at a little higher rate than the UK (which only permits tests for patients of their national health care system with symptoms).
It is a lot better than nothing, but those levels are not helpful when some leaders want to re-open the economy at some level.
The corporate world needs to be able to test its employees with rapid turnaround, or they will just become mass spreaders.
What about a weak bleach/water rinse, for store veggies?
I used to do that, years ago. May have to do that, again.
There was a poster on here who did the bleach soak for all their fresh veggies. Maybe that poster will chime in. Were you that poster?
I think this is the problem China is having with restarting their production lines.
No, but I used to do that....never posted about, tho.
Going to start, again.
You can even do meats, IIRC.
I need to look for my old notes.
FEMA confirms that an employee at headquarters in DC has tested positive for Coronavirus. VP Pence & other task force members have been in the building this week.

Can you put that info on either or both the prepping thread or gardening thread, too?
That is useful information for someone interested in that cause I’ve been wondering the same thing.
Pence should be on the HCQ prophylactically.
He’s apparently been a serious butt kicker with this project. We need him.
I’ve been saying/wondering if he and POTUS might both be...as well as other members of the task force.
Well, technically they’re all first responders.
I betcha that’s why congress came back.
Wonder how many of the hypocrits are on that drug prophylactically.
Including the NV gov.
Oh for a star trek tricorder to see :)
Sure....I want to say it was a teaspoon (of REGULAR) Clorox to a gal of water.
You soak in this solution, then rinse w/water.
I need to find the times (of soaking).
But...in the meantime...I’m going to use it for about 5 -10 mins, then rinse, then refridgerate.
571 more people hospitalized in New York State in past day (3,805 total)
132 more ICU patients in NY State in past day (888 total)

Therefore _today_ is the day when the state is officially out of ICU capacity in its standard hospitals.
There are ways to extend capacity, and other hospital beds are being brought on line, but this happened quickly.

Dr. Campbell is still lamenting over the USA’s lack of testing. He says, and I agree, Trump is wrong on Easter. NY state doubling every 3 days is frightening - per Cuomo, in 12 days they’ll have 244,000.
Honestly, the numbers out of Hong Kong and Singapore are suspect as well. Maybe they have been honest. But maybe not.
Let’s just hope serious cases don’t eventually overrun our supply of the HCQ.
The Singapore numbers are most likely to be legit, because they actually assign each positive person a case number, track their contacts, and assign each new identified positive person a case number indicating (by number) how they contact traced to that person—and they post it all on-line.
Amazing stuff—probably best in the world at tracking the virus.
Chlorine Bleach For Sanitizing Raw Fruits And Vegetables
Federal regulations permit the use of sodium hypochlorite (chlorine bleach) in washing produce (21 CFR Part 173).
The conditions:
The concentration of sanitizer in the wash water must not exceed 2000 ppm hypochlorite.
The produce must be rinsed with potable water following the chlorine treatment.
How To Make A Chlorine Bleach & Water Solution To Sanitize Raw Fruits And Vegetables
2 teaspoons Regular Bleach (8.25% sodium hypochlorite)
1 Gallon of clean water
This will result in a 200 ppm (parts per million) chlorine solution.
Let fruit or vegetables stand in solution for at least one minute.
Then rinse with tap water or potable water.
If someone doesn’t have a brain, do they have the right to demand other people do stupid things?
Asking for a friend.
