A kid who licked toilets as part of the #CoronaVirusChallenge says he's now in the hospital with coronavirus. @gayshawnmendes was also just suspended from twitter
I guess what I’m asking is, even though I have a mail-in ballot, can I still vote in person?
I’ve always voted in person, and I’ve never been comfortable with the idea of absentee/vote-by-mail voting. If I can vote in person, I’d rather.
I would call the office that sent you the mail-in ballot. I don’t think you’re required to use it, but it can’t hurt to check. It might even be in the FAQ on their website.
I tried researching it online but got no real answers. If I put in my physical address, the message comes up that I have to use mail-in voting.
Since this is a federal election, I really don’t think they can stop me from voting in person. The only place to vote in town, it seems, is the library.
If nothing else, when I take the DVDs back on Wednesday (or Tuesday) I’ll ask while I’m there. Someone may know.
Not a surprise.
It's a sunny day here. Jake says everyone should get in a sunbeam and nap. I looked for the cat clippers to cut his claws while he was relaxed, but I couldn't find them. I can put the boys on the quest while DP and I go to Mass.
A nap with a cat sounds very nice! I’m sleepy and tired, and really looking forward to bedtime.
The next recipe for a casserole involves potatoes. The one after that I think will be the glorified mac ‘n’ cheese dish, pasticchio, and then I think lasagna and I should have enough meals in the freezer, in enough variety that I can get a lot of stuff done without stopping to cook.
My mother’s decision that eating is a waste of time is more understandable, these days.
Maybe tomorrow, I can sort through the big freezer and toss the stuff that has freezer burn or otherwise doesn’t look as though it will be edible between now and the end of December.
That will clear the way for the freezer to be sold. :o]
Tom has wandered over here because he had nothing else going on. He and DP are going to Monroe to get crickets.
I managed quite a long nap with our grey tabby, Sam. I’d have FAR rather not have had the excuse of a raging headache to do it; my day was full, and I didn’t need the misfortune.
Trust me, I know the feeling.
Having a warm furry, critter nestled up to you, making a soothing noise is always a good excuse for a nap. And who knows? They could help to ease the migraines.
At the moment, all I have is birds. They don’t snuggle too well.
I was tired and hoping to get a good night’s sleep, but I woke up at 2230 and couldn’t get back to sleep. My brain started trying to solve problems, and after a half an hour of trying to sleep without success, I just got up.
So the clothes have been sorted and I could probably go over and wash clothes, but I’m not quite ready yet. Psychologically, that is.
Good morning.
LOL! Morning Kitty says stinky shoes are better than catnip!
Good morning.
I had a cat once that loved Igor’s sneakers. After a few good whiffs, his head would come up and it was like his neck lost the muscles and his head would bob. His eyes were half-closed and he would almost fall over backwards. Then he would sleep. Silliest thing I ever saw!
The laundry is washed, and as I sat here, copying a recipe (some recipe cards have been used so often they’re hardly legible) it dawned on me why I’m so frustrated now and why I’m so messed up in the head.
Instead of being able to do all the things that need my attention, such as various genealogies for different family members and the transcribing of personal histories, I’m stuck trying to figure out how to get the pre-packing stuff done so I can move.
I think I resent that, but it has to be done. Once I get to Cabot, I can work on the things that are important to other family members. I think I’ll get them finished, too! This time in Hurricane seems to be a pause for station ID. Or something like it.
Your life is featuring interruptions to sustained activity. I understand why that’s frustrating!
Jake is upstairs on a tear. It’s like the universe is telling the rest of the family members that it’s time to get up.
It’s more frustrating because I’ve never encountered anything like this before and I’m having a hard time trying to learn to adapt. I’ll get there! I just have to figure out how.
I need to go hang the clothes, but they’ll wait for a bit.
Camilla is always screechy this time of morning, and my ears aren’t ready for it. Gonzo, unlike her, is beginning to recall his entire repertoire of bird songs. Maybe he can teach her a few. I hope.
Remember how long you waited for Gonzo to sing again. Maybe it will take that long again for Camilla to join in.
Jake visited the garage, and now he has gone back outside.
Birds often don’t sing at all during their molt, and Beaker died the day after Christmas so I thought the shock to Gonzo would stop him singing. Then the molt a few months later, and I figured he may never recover from Beaker. So his singing again was a pleasant surprise.
As for Camilla, well, if she were another species, she’d be a horse of a different color. As it is, she’s just a strange bird.
Now I really have to go hang up the clothes!
I should go check on the wash, too. I put a load in the dryer when the Other People started getting up, but I need to do a wash load, too.
My mother says her cat is poorly - lying in her bed (on the bathroom shelf) grumbling, instead of following Mom around. Mom thinks the cat is quite old; it was a 3rd-hand cat, so age is uncertain. Mom will go to Bingo tonight, she said. They still have very limited options in their building, but at least people aren’t dying.
Good morning. Happy Monday!
I’ll see your toilet seats and raise you sneakers.
Whatever it takes to get away from teh Monday.
Good morning. I hope things are nifty in your neck of the woods today!
The laundry is hanging to dry, and I think the lack of sleep is making me feel my age. Unngh.
I’m sorry about your mom’s cat. Sometimes, old cats live to be much older because they’re with someone who loves them. I believe that love makes a difference in all lives.
My opinion still hasn’t changed since March and that is that the world should have allowed the WuFlu to run its course, like any other flu so that people could deal with it sooner rather than later, with no artificial hindrances. But that’s just me.
Once in a while, I’ll see someone wearing a mask while driving, and I just don’t get it. I haven’t heard of many in the senior living and assisted care homes who have died from it, but folks around here are pretty hardy.
My body wants a nap...
