I remember this from Fire Island, where the old-timers would make beach plum jam and blueberry jam, both from fruit that grew wild on the island.
We had a blueberry bush on our property, but there were many many in the areas that were still totally wild. You just had to watch out for the poison ivy, and later the deer ticks. The beach plum bushes were on the dunes.
Well said, thanks.
The beach plum jam sounds yummy.
Hope Kate took the kids to one of their country estates.
England better keep Wills safe because Just Harry is useless.
Amazon WH in Sheperdsville, KY closed, multiple employees positive:
I’ve got a stupid question.
Are the frozen cherries you see in the grocery store already pitted?
Thx if anyone knows!

Which state are you? I was thinking the panic buying would be over by now. My wife commented if she wears a mask people part for her, she is Asian.
I guess we need to wear gloves when up packing packages now.
About four years ago during a cold spell, we had rolling blackouts which caused more problems. Some places (mine) forgot to turn the power back on. Some transformers blew up when the power was turned on. There were few new transformers to be had back then so you know there are fewer today.
Not just Iran. I saw the influx of wealthy Chinese weeks and weeks ago, and then the Italians.
Why everyone thinks of coming here I don’t know. It’s actually a terrible place to visit. It’s only nice if you live here. Just the opposite of how the saying goes.
This is why we’ve been spraying down the packages, letting them sit for a while and the putting them in the garage to ‘age’ for a week or preferably 10 days.
Just to be sure.
Might get to a point where fedex/ups won’t deliver stuff if they can’t be sure the boxes themselves aren’t contaminated.
Agree with nice place to live.
(Unless you have a bunch of little kids IMHO)
I really enjoyed my years living in that area, miss it too.
I wonder if they can run the packages through a blue light room to disinfect. I heard some hospital use a blue light room for clean equipment.
I suspect that whatever they use, they’ll figure something out with a quickness...
It was special.
We also had a wild cherry tree on our property. People said don’t bother with the wild cherries, the pits are so big it’s not worthwhile.
But I didn’t listen. At the proper moment, I picked them, cooked them, put them through a sieve, and put the stuff in the freezer. While everyone else was at the beach, I was stirring the thing every twenty minutes or so back at the house. I got enough to make enough wild cherry ice for one dinner’s dessert. We had a guy visiting who was in the restaurant business and he went berserk. Plenty of reward for all the work.
