NEW YORK CITY (WABC) — There are now 12,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus in New York City, which include those on the frontlines in the NYPD and the FDNY.
FDNY Commissioner Daniel Nigro says 46 members have tested positive for COVID-19.
Two members are hospitalized, and none are believed to have caught the virus while working, but an investigation continues into how they contracted the virus.

Beg and/or borrow as many high tech coolers as possible.
Clean out the freezer in your fridge to make room there for the more perishable stuff that would thaw out quickly.

Yep! Same here :)
I’m thinking I will (pressure can some more meat), eventually...my freezers are just giving me a break :D
hold on to your toes for this week. Those that caught the virus just before the 1st day of day 7 of shut down, will be getting symptomatic enough to seek hospital care right about the next day or three. (10 days to ARD)
Next week the spring breakers will start dropping, along with the relatives and friends they infected
Those that honestly make it 15 days, no store trips, no nothing, can go play with friends that also made it 15 days. That’s how we get back to work. Small groups. Then a little bigger. Until the crew is back.
I broke shelter in place day 3, so I have to add 3 days to 15 days and I’ll be good to social-distance socialize with others.
WASHINGTON U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams warned Monday that the coronavirus outbreak will worsen this week and said that people across the country are not taking the threat seriously enough.”I want America to understand this week, it’s going to get bad,” Adams said in an interview on the “TODAY” show.

Also, if possible, clean out your fridge part and crank it way down. Any fridge can be turned down enough so that it will freeze the milk.
When it’s that cold, anything that you stick in the fridge to defrost there will not defrost for at least a week.
So the fridge can be used as an auxiliary *freezer* for the short length of time it takes to defrost the freezer.
To help the freezer defrost quicker, put a fan in front of it to blow the warm air into it. The air circulation will help the ice melt faster and if it’s soft enough, you can gently hack out chunks of it to speed up the process. You just want to be very careful to NOT damage the coils.
Also, pouring warm water on the ice will help it melt. Get buckets of pans to catch the run off.
It should only take a few hours at that rate and the refrigerated food in suspended animation will not thaw in that amount of time.
Traffic report from Wuhan, China.
Back up and running?
Not at all.

Ha! Good to know. I usually give anything over a couple of years to the chickens but this year I held on to everything
Well, it is cloudy there.
I reorganized my freezer the other day to inventory it.
I found some stuff that had slipped to the back and got lost, so I pulled the older stuff out and put it in the upstairs freezer to use right away.
I pressure canned some old frozen venison that I found too. It pressure canned up just fine in spite of some freezer burn. Now it will keep much better.
I hope that your wife is not being denied the treatment she needs. This is a good reminder for all of us that there is still non-pandemic suffering going on in the midst of this crisis. You are an inspiration to everyone by standing by her in this difficult time. You and your wife will be in my family's prayers.
The majority of deaths have been in 4 countries, China, Italy, Spain, & Iran They account for 13,367 of the 16,389 deaths reported. If you add in France and the U.S. that total rises to 14,772. If you add in Germany, South Korea, Switzerland, U.K., and the Netherlands it rises to 15,549 (all of these countries have a minimum of triple digit deaths reported).
That means only 840 deaths are spread among all the other countries reporting deaths from the CoVid-19. virus.
2 of those countries (China & Iran) have been accused of under reporting their deaths.
So while this virus has spread, it has spread mostly in just 11 countries, at least so far - 7 European countries, 2 Asian countries, the U.S., and Iran.
That is just heart breaking.
But if it is not really being reported the question is from where are you getting your information? I will have to start tuning in there.
Is there a port they can dock, in Canada?
I heard they were heading to Ft Lauderdale!!
I sure hope DeSantis doesn’t allow that.
Save this post—and wait two weeks....
Soups and stews make great meals and are simple to do.
I just can the meat and broth and add the fresh veggies later.
It’s more like fresh homemade and I don’t like the way many vegetables can up.
I grew up on canned veggies since that was all we could afford.
Canned peas BLECH!!!!!
Now that you mention it, I really should check on the canning I did a while back. They’ve been sitting in the back of the basement fridge for awhile. See if they pass the smell test :)
