I know Ill get flamed for this but Ill go ahead and make these points anyway. I think Trumps decision to make Fauci a visible part of his task force was a stroke of genius. If you read Faucis background he took his position under Reagan and is undoubtedly one of the worlds foremost experts on infectious diseases. He brings significant credibility to The Presidents efforts.
The media recognizes this and is trying to drive a wedge between Trump and Fauci. DONT fall for it. He has given significant support to the President particularly regarding the decision to stop travel from China. Sure he wants to see a lot more data from clinical trials before committing that chloroqul will stop the disease. Hes a scientist and thats what they do.
But yesterday when the idiots in press tried to get him to say he disagreed with the President he gave an excellent response. He explained the difference between how a leader of the country and a scientist would look at the available information. He the went on to say that he and the President were aligned on the need to accelerate the deployment of those drugs and intertwined his fingers to illustrate the point.
By attacking Fauci on these forums youre playing into the hands of the media. You may wish he worded things differently. I get that. I sometimes wish Trump worded things differently but the President has my total support. Lets do the same for Dr Fauci and not let the media be successful in their efforts to undermine the President and our country.
H1N1 had a much lower contagion and death rate. Don’t remember military parades of vehicles transporting 500 dead bodies (daily) in a small region of a modernized country(Italy). Do you?
This problem isn’t about Fauci.

i’ve watched every word of every press conference that President Trump has done on this virus, and it’s obvious that President Trump respects, trusts, and admires Dr. Fauci ... if that wasn’t the case, President Trump wouldn’t always have Dr. Fauci on the podium with him and allow him to answer so many questions, there would be someone else instead ...
FR anti-Trump trolls on FR just love to attack Dr. Fauci because they don’t have the balls to attack President Trump himself, but when they attack close advisers whom President Trump obviously respects and trusts, they’re implicitly attacking President Trump’s judgement, and most of us here are too smart to fall for their bullshit attacks ...
That was an interesting moment.
I think Pence has the attitude that it’s better to nip the misstatement in the bud. POTUS covered well.
It may be as simple as what defines simple for the two men. A respirator wouldn’t be a simple machine for a general machine shop to build to build but auto manufacturers are used to a very different level of sophistication and circuitry.
I’ve said Trump should focus on economic matters, and Pence on the medical ones.
This guy flip flops between reasonable (like in the NEJM) to being hysterical.
I think he's a smart bureaucrat who is looking out for his dept to get more funding. He thought Ebola was gonna wipe us our when he worked for Obama. He'll go where his dept is looked upon favorably when all is said and done.
As long as the President likes him, I like him.
Well Faucie’s love affair with the Hildebeast is enough for me. If I were Trump I wouldn’t turn my back on him,
[Actually, Pence contradicted Trump yesterday. Trump was telling the media that ventilators are complex, computerized machines. Pence got up there right after that and told them the machines are really kind of simple. Trump noticed too.]
Well said and thank you for posting this. Some of the posts on this discussion board over this doctor have been way over the top.
100% agree. And our side too.
Thank you for thoughts. Didnt know what to think of this. Nice to know of the Reagan link.
I look at Fauci as the Jeff Sessions of medicine.
Exactly. Once again Trump proves he is a bad judge of character with this idiot. I ignore him. Just another moron Trump trusts that is waiting to stab him in the back. F him!
agree fully. healthy tension between the two is nothing but positive

One has to wonder how many of these dead people were treated with the 6-day course of Hydroxychloroquine and Azithromycin that has been found to be of therapeutic & recovery value - before they became dead bodies.
Maybe the problem is not about Fauci but about a Fauci mindset?
I’m more concerned about Dr. Fauci (and the other medical professionals advising the President) being overly cautious and doing a lot of economic damage to the country by keeping it in a state of mental and physical lockdown longer than necessary.
They’ve got about 9 more days of grace before the people’s tolerance for the lockdown wears out. When the time is up, they had better have something other than more lockdown planned. Whatever they announce better accord with the real data now starting to come in about the virus.

Those malaria drugs, a combo of two, have never been tested with this particular coronavirus.
For him to say its safe or is going to work, would make him a quack Dr.”
50 hospitals in Australia are using it, after a secret trial showed hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin worked.
Other countries are using it as well.
Dubbed as the nation’s “coronavirus hero” by news publications, Dr. Anthony Fauci is undoubtedly the country’s most respected expert on the COVID-19 pandemic. While Democratic politicians and the left have tried to pin him against President Donald Trump during the crisis, the world-renowned immunologist has praised the president’s leadership during the crisis and says he and the commander-in-chief are aligned.

Biden debunked, Fauci says Trump follows his recommendations
In an interview with The Atlantic, Fauci was asked how Trump compared to past presidents with whom he has worked.
“He has a very unique style,” he said. “But the thing that encourages me is that every time I’ve asked him to do somethingcut out China travel, or go to the mitigation guidelineshe’s always ultimately listened to what I’ve said.”
Dr. Fauci’s comments contradict accusations leveled by Democratic frontrunner Joe Biden who has repeatedly implied that Trump ignores the opinions of scientists and experts on the coronavirus.
In fact, Fauci, who news organizations once falsely suggested was being “muzzled” by the White House, stated that Trump has always accepted his scientific expert opinion.
“When I’ve said, ‘I really think we should do this,’ he’s never said no and overruled my recommendation.” he said, adding “when to comes to the core of what gets done, thankfully, he has listened to me.”
Fauci on Trump: ‘There isn’t a fundamental difference’ between us
While the Associated Press claimed Dr. Fauci and Trump are at odds, the Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient said on CBS’ “Face the Nation” that this simply is not true.
Anchor Margaret Brennan asked him if he and Trump disagreed on whether a malaria drug called hydroxychloroquine could be used to prevent COVID-19, to which the scientist said they were aligned.
“The President was trying to bring hope to the people,” Dr. Fauci said regarding comments Trump made during a recent press briefing where he said he felt optimistic about the drug’s potential to treat the coronavirus.
“I think there’s this issue of trying to separate the two of us. There isn’t fundamentally a difference there,” he added.
