Walmart has the dog's insulin. Fred Meyer has my wife insulin. Neither have drive up. Walgreen's has the other meds. They have a drive up, but don't have the insulin arrangments. Nothing is convenient anymore.

Do NOT have an elderly relative put their home into your name. Especially if they have owned it a long time. Then it will probably have s significant capital gain. They will inherit it with the value it has the day you die. I thought about doing that, but with $300,000 in value increase since I bought mine many years ago, I would pay close to $100,000 in taxes whereas they would pay no taxes unless I was a multi millionaire which I am not. I am 81 and healthy.

I just heard a report that many people completely loose their sense of smell and taste with Covid-19. For many it is the first sign of the illness and for some it is the ONLY sign of the illness. So if you suddenly loose taste and smell, stay isolated. PLEASE PASS ON THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION.

I have allergies to house dust; cigarettes, cool weather mold, and ragweed. I have taken 3 to 6 grams of Vitamin C for over 45 years. Dose depending on allergens around me. I spread this amount through the day. Body burns up C in 5 or 6 hours. I take a gram before I start house cleaning. I have never had the harmless symptoms of overdose of burning urine or acid gas. If I did I would just use a little less or less frequently. The Chinese are doing 3 clinical trials on high intravenous Vitamin C for the deadly acute respiratory syndrome phase of Covid-19. If you can’t get to a hospital and are really ill you can crush C tablets and mix in a container of water to drink or sip for treatment. Animals our size produce 2 to 4 grams of C daily when NOT under stress. I find no information of anyone ever dying from taking too much C. I once gave a women with acute yellow jacket sting symptoms (forgot her bee allergy kit) who was swollen and choking 50 grams of C over 8 hours. After the first 10 grams her eyes opened and she stopped choking in 20 minutes. I would recommend taking 1 gram morning and evening daily as a protective measure.

My wife just received a text from her supervisor in dispatch. We have two confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Chubbuck, ID. I don't have information on how they were infected, but I suspect students returning from Spring Break activities. Idaho State University released students a week early for Spring Break.

Local press reports the two confirmed COVID-19 cases as "males in their 30's with a history of travel".

I gave an answer without knowing your situation. One suggestion could be to build a side porch to use as a personal space for your mother with a wheelchair ramp. Also buy or rent a small used trailer or RV and park by your home so she has her own space. I cared for my late husband with Alzheimers who wanted to NOT die in a hospital. He started to wander and forget where home was less than 2 years before he died. Around then he also started to get up at 4 am and want to go walking our urban streets. He 5’ 11”, 200 lb, me 5’4”. I had to persuade or wrestle him back into bed. Important to have a lock that is hard to open if it comes to that. Also cared for my mother dying of congestive heart failure. I would prepare a little box with a sippy cup and snacks and leave by her bed so she didn’t have to wake me at night. Nighttime diaper. Portable toilet chair by her bed. My sympathies.

Given how much debt the federal government is taking on for the CV emergency, and how much tax revenue the states are losing, much higher federal and state taxes afterward are guaranteed.

From the article:

“The flu vaccine is available on the NHS every winter and is routinely given to adults over 65, people with medical conditions and pregnant women, to prevent serious complications from flu like pneumonia.”

It appears that in England, mostly “at risk” people get the flu shot. So it isn’t the flu shot that causes the problem - it is because they are already in the at risk category.

And we can also expect 10+% inflation for years to pay off the accumulated government debt, in addition to massive tax increases. America’s standard of living will crash and take 10-20 years to recover.

that appears the right way to interpret the article...

however,

forgot to put conclusion

Receipt of influenza vaccination was not associated with virus interference among our population. Examining virus interference by specific respiratory viruses showed mixed results. Vaccine derived virus interference was significantly associated with coronavirus and human metapneumovirus; however, significant protection with vaccination was associated not only with most influenza viruses, but also parainfluenza, RSV, and non-influenza virus coinfections.

None of this would be necessary if ...the results were available in a reasonable time.. [and]..the hospitals had ample supplies of biogear

Good morning back at you :)

I agree with the second part, but, 10 weeks after the genome was first sequenced (which CCP destroyed), to have an under an hour test, is a bit of wishful thinking rather than reality

<r
As to hospitals, many of which are owned by insurance companies and or big pharm (example:Kaiser) another chunk being Public university or research hospitals - lack of equipment lies directly on a) owner; b) county; c) state. From the top down in each state. Because each state regulates and licenses their hospitals, every public hospital is part of the county and state Emergency Preparedness agencies, and each county and each state is charged with the safety of their own citizens and obligated to protect the safety of their fellow states.

The states hold numerous ‘exercises’ to show preparedness against bio and chemical attacks. Which makes for a good time for all as they pat themselves on the back at the after-exercise dinners. But they forget the most basic foundation of preparedness - PPE and backup equipment. Where was the worst case exercise for that? What if more than the basic PPE is required? Stockpiling and then rotating of emergency supplies for those very same bio and chemical preparedness exercises should have been part of every state preparedness. Obviously, it wasn’t.

It is unconscionable that states lend more weight to virtue-signaling, feel-good social programs than to protecting the health of their populations first and foremost. Or that hospital owners/states completely abdicated their responsibility to their staff. Which starts with protecting those on the front lines upon whom the rest of the population relies. There needs to be a major shakeup, and a reckoning in those states and those companies and those public hospitals that found themselves floundering, topheavy in golden parachutes and pensions, and sorely lacking in attention to details that save lives.

Now, Medicare beneficiaries can access a range of medical providers remotely using a phone or computer instead of having to visit a doctor in person.

...Additionally, at CVS pharmacies in 34 states, customers can get a one-time emergency prescription renewal for a routine medication for up to 90 days.

Johnson Co. Iowa, isn’t that where the University of Iowa is located. Is this because that county has a larger population than most counties or because a lot of students have returned from Spring Break? Also what county is Ames in, home of Iowa University, the “cow college?” What is the date on this report?

I won’t argue that point. The governors aren’t realizing that once people can circulate freely, for a time afterwards, they’re going to want to go out more frequently than before - just because. That will mean more restaurants, more attractions, more everything will be over-consumed by stir-crazy folks and then gradually settle back to the norm.

What if the people are outdoors walking to the bank, the grocery store, or just around the block to get a little exercise. Last Friday I walked around the block with wide sidewalks where people respected social distance, if not I stepped into the street (which had little traffic), and stopped to chat with people sitting by their doorways at 10 or more feet distance from the sidewalk. Around 6 sets of doorway sitters, happy to have someone new to talk with, at a safe distance. Of course clusters of people playing in parks where they are breathing deeply is really stupid. Darwin awards coming soon.
