A statue of the Angel Moroni sits atop the Salt Lake Temple in a 2015 photo. The temple was damaged Wednesday in an earthquake that also dislodged Moroni's trumpet.
(CNN)The 5.7-magnitude earthquake that shook Utah Wednesday morning also dislodged a symbolic part of Salt Lake City's iconic Mormon temple: the trumpet of an angel statue atop its highest spire.
The temple is the spiritual focal point for the 16 million members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
"The trumpet on the Angel Moroni statue fell off, and there is minor displacement of some of the temple's smaller spire stones," said Daniel Woodruff, a spokesman for the church.

I guess when Notre Dame Cathedral burned down, God was really stroking a blow against the cult of historic Christianity. Right?
Muslims, who oppose Christianity (as mormons do) burned a Notre Dame, as they have burned churches across Europe.

I'm gonna leave the thinking to them.

The Debate Is Over
By President N. Eldon Tanner
First Counselor in the First Presidency
Recently, at the Churchwide fireside meeting held for the women of the Church, Young Women President Elaine Cannon made the following statement:
When the Prophet speaks,
the debate is over (Ensign, Nov. 1978, p. 108).I was impressed by that simple statement, which carries such deep spiritual meaning for all of us. Wherever I go, my message to the people is: Follow the prophet. Why else has the Lord placed prophets on the earth throughout the dispensations of time?
-
It is foolish to suppose that men can be left to their own devices and accomplish what God intended for them.
-
It is difficult to understand why there are so many people who fight against the counsel of the prophet and for the preservation of the very things that will bring them misery and even death. As one example, let us consider the Word of Wisdom.
-
Latter-day Saints should be able to accept the words of the prophets without having to wait for science to prove the validity of their words. We are most fortunate to have a living prophet at the head of the Church to guide us, and all who heed his counsel will be partakers of the promised blessings which will not be enjoyed by those who fail to accept his messages.
-
True Latter-day Saints have no such dilemma. They know that the messages of the prophet have come from the Lord and have the concurrence of all the General Authorities, who are men of vision and integrity, and who themselves try to keep in tune with deity.
(Uh; forget about the forged items that we purchased from a certain indidvidual)
-
History and experience have proven that whenever and wherever there is departure from following the word of the Lord, calamity occurs.
-
Whose side are we on? When the prophet speaks the debate is over.

In addition, the tornado took the local weather forecasters by surprise, as conditions were not especially favorable for tornadoes that day.God is great!

Joseph Smith told us that the Book of Abraham was written in something he called “Reformed Egyptian.”
He “translated” those scrolls in English, but had no idea that a short while later that particular ancient text would be truly understood.
After all of that, the texts turn out to be ancient Egyptian funeral documents.
So now, the LDS have to come with some other concocted story to say that it was not actually a translation, but a revelation. Really?
He even mislabeled the characters drawn on the scroll. It’s really ridiculous that anyone can believe this stuff.
I’m more than prepared to give several examples of the misidentified characters.

The Ten Commandments...make some sense for a good life for all of humanity. I consider them incomplete, but good.Just curious -- what should have been included, but was not?

The day the ELCA voted to go full homo, a bolt of lightning struck the crucifix on the top of the church the vote was taken and bent it such that inverted.
Total coincidence.

Coincidence is not causation.

This is why mormonic missionaries first try to get you off the ground of biblical facts and onto the ground of feelings.

When your entire existance is BASED on believing this 'stuff'; the mind will conjure up all kinds of reasons to continue doing so.
