I just wonder what the consequences are for China in all this.
They may have a big nation and can produce a lot for their nation.
But they are dependent on the US for much.

You would like to think there will be some consequences. I'm skeptical.
I am.
I’ve managed to contract bronchitis after 3/4 of my colds since I was in college. It varies widely from simple chronic phlegm in lungs, a feeling of “compression” and a bit of lethargy to severe cough that lasts for a couple months to a severe lung infection, flat on my back, and serious trouble breathing (a year ago). Last year was the year I stopped taking my lungs for granted - for a while, I actually thought I was a goner.
The people who have written about their experiences with COVID say it is horrendous, the worst sickness they’ve ever had. But I suppose that the people with mild and asymptomatic cases don’t write about their experiences.
If I got COVID, I’m not sure I could differentiate it from my normal wintertime lung problems.
“The specific time-frame he described with no add on as to how do we survive that long is not reassuring.”
We do it in a way similar to the way the Brits survived the Blitz. There will be times that life can sort of get back to normal and their will be times that we will need to hunker down and keeps our heads low.
We are going to have to make sacrifices and difficult decisions and focus on the continuity of those things we need to keep us alive and safe.
Trump just jumped over all of us with his recommendations. NOW what will the flubros do?
Could you put me on the Low carb ping list?
Especially if you include recipes.
“Our unnamed hospital in North Metro Atlanta is seeing a spike in potential cases. It is taking forever and a day to get confirmation back from testing authorities. I can say with certainty the 122 identified cases for Georgia is very inaccurate. We are probably >1000 statewide.”
Atlanta on lockdown in 3, 2, 1 . . .
Maybe say prayers, rather than shake your head, FRiend.
I actually just went to the Staples site to buy them and have them sent to my daughter in Denver. Their web site seems to have inventory data problems. They will say something is not out of stock on the product page, but, when you check out, it says they don’t have any. I experienced that about ten minutes ago.
You have to get all the way through the checkout process to see if they actually have any.
It's astounding the callousness of those who think that way when you consider the number of suffering and dying, and the burden on the health care system.
What I see is that preventing health care collapse is a large factor in the decisions to restrict activities etc.
I have a daughter who is in the home health care field who has been ill for the last few days. She has been told that she will not be tested and she visits 5+ shut-ins a day. She is quarantined currently, but I know you can still be contagious even after symptoms are gone. She doesnt want to kill grandmas.
This extreme rationing of testing is insane. Seems as though you have to rich and famous to get medical attention.
Ton of great recipes, here...
Our family has loved every recipe we’ve tried.
That’s exactly my understanding, too. I’ve see herd immunity estimates from 60% to 80% of the population.
Well, they have to do anger, then bargaining, then depression before they hit acceptance...
and we will have to listen to all of it—and pretend we are not bored. ;-)
Sorry, there are people far better than me regarding recipes.
Obviously you’re now on the list, Met.
I was listening via WRHI out of Rick Hill. Of course, Lindsey wanted to call out the US military to help with the crisis.
How scary!!
For your daughter and for those she has to care for.
Prayers for these care givers.
Good for West Kentucky. They’re getting supplies before there’s a dozen cases.
