Personal suggestion re: Christmas decorations.

IF (IF) China doesn’t get its act together wrt manufacturing and shipping by June or so...this Christmas season’s decoration supply may be dodgy. If those are decorations you no longer want, get them down, spruce them up and sell them this fall. If you don’t really have to have the space just right this minute.

I told hubby, last night, that Cuomo seems to be in full alarm/melt down mode.

Is he still calling for ACOE to build hospitals for NY?

We did some remodeling, a few years ago, and had a dumpster in our drive for just over a week.

Before they came to pick up the dumpster, hubby ran up to the attic and cleared out a TON of old stuff.

I loved it....he NEVER gets rid of things and he was really caught up in the purging moment!!

He is on full tilt. Yes, demanding emergency hospitals be built by the Feds, he is using wild statistics, giving descriptions of the physical effects when one dies from CV, every state needs same rules. The downside of closing schools, he went on and on with that. They keep flashing GLOBAL CV numbers from John Hopkins, which, of course, shows the higher infection numbers. No once have they shown the US rate, which as of now show seventy deaths.

I lugged a big pork shoulder out of the freezer that’s been pushing it’s way out. Was saving him and his brother for tamales. Might as well make up a batch now and then get the smaller packages back into it’s old freezer space.

Yes, it’s still freezer food which relies on power but it’ll be easy dinners if we get sick.

Deniers get all panicky at the end. You'll be ok. Over the next few weeks, sometimes the stores will have what you want, sometimes they won't. Stay home as much as you can. Order what you need from the grocery and have it delivered.

He is telling you the truth. 40 to 60% of New Yorkers are going to get the virus. 17% are going to require hospitalization. Do the math.

You don't want to get infected over the next two weeks, because if you need a hospital, you will be needing one during the largest crush of infected people, and care will be rationed. Your chance of surviving, or surviving without permanent organ damage, will be lower during this time.

Yet, if anyone points out that to properly quarantine for this Virus, we need to shut down interstate commerce? They back off.

Level headed thinking people like yourself realize that Truck stops-for example, get visited by thousands of drivers each day. They come from all over the USA. They travel from places like Seattle and drive across the country, stopping all along the way.

I dont see anything like that being proposed, and I hope it never happens. But think about that. They close schools, churches, no gatherings of over 50 people, etc. But what most likely will spread it MORE than anything is interstate commerce. Rest homes and schools I can agree with, but to panic like they have? NO

IT IS A NATION WIDE PANIC. The Red Chinese are standing back watching this going..is that all we have to do to bring the USA to its knees? Hell we can win this thing easily.

I’ll reword it - This would be the perfect time for the university or whomever to contract him to go into work on those pianos. No one is in the building so no one is spreading CV and he’d do a better job in the peace and quiet.

Right after the shut down the restaurants and bars phase, when they close all businesses except grocery and pharmacy, they are going to make the truck stops fuel only.

They states are already closing the rest areas. They can't keep them clean and the restrooms will be significant vectors.

I don’t doubt the significance of CV. I don’t see how Cuomo deserves this much air time with irresponsible, hysterical, and dangerous subjective information.

I’m not watching Cuomo...a post, upthread said he’s downplaying the closing of schools.

Why, do you suppose, he’d downplay that?

Probably one of the smartest moves a state/school district could make, over the next few weeks.
