Her Mom and I have been trying to persuade her not to go. She will be flying from iad to fort lauderdale. Cheap tickets. Several of her friends scooped them up last minute and the air b&b is dirt cheap. Any thoughts on how to convince her to cancel would be helpful. She successful, single and is in her mid 20s and has just been told to work from home for the next 3 weeks.

A few days ago, someone was posting that the COVID-19 virus could still be infectious on surfaces at 14 days! No reference, no citation - just stated it without a lick of evidence.
Just today you had someone posting, almost contemptuously, related to some people not adequately prepping and waiting until the "last minute".
I am very sad at the attitude of somer FReepers (not you - you were at least trying to help in your post). We just all have to be mindful of what we post.
First of all..*everything* I’ve read (and heard) indicates that if you’re young and healthy you have literally nothing to worry about. It’s old geezers like me...and diabetics...and those with underlying lung disease or heart disease...that have to worry.

I'm guessing you don't have any friends or relatives who are old or have compromised immune systems, COPD, or asthma.
I have flown a lot in my time and rarely, maybe 4 times, gotten sick immediately after and I catch everything. Who knows, too, it could have been from airport bathroom, waiting area, before trip, etc.
Deductively, I have always concluded airplane air not as contaminated as people like to believe.
The planes are empty. She’ll be fine.

She and her friends, are they all government employees?
How do you feel about her going on vacation when she’s been given 3 weeks to work from home? How do you feel about people in general taking a vacation when they are supposed to be working?
Her plans are not safe and they are dishonest.

I suggest just having her take some measures to reenforce her immune system. I hear that zinc helps - you might want to research that.
If she’s flying out of the area after being told to work from home for the next 3 weeks, couldn’t that get her terminated?
That alone, if she had any Common Sense should do it.
Or Hallmark Channel tugs on the heart strings. 23 year old’s die in this country everyday from some disease. My son is returning from Cozumel today. I think I’ll have a panic attack and go buy some toilet paper, if I can find any out there.
