Her Mom and I have been trying to persuade her not to go. She will be flying from iad to fort lauderdale. Cheap tickets. Several of her friends scooped them up last minute and the air b&b is dirt cheap. Any thoughts on how to convince her to cancel would be helpful. She successful, single and is in her mid 20s and has just been told to work from home for the next 3 weeks.
Youre not going to be seeing the WWII museumexcept its exterior. Last I read it is closed until further notice.
I noticed the difference in the plane air quality in the past month. It is much better now.
WW2 Museum, You will love it.
I was surprised at how well the timeline of history was displayed.
Look at it this way, she is more likely to crash in the jet then get Coronavirus. Let her go.

Effective March 14, 2020
An Important Update Regarding
Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)
To help protect the health and safety of our visitors, staff, and volunteers, The National WWII Museum will temporarily close to the public, effective Saturday, March 14.
Today, Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards announced the closure of all K-12 public schools throughout the state, along with a halt on all public gatherings of over 250 people. Likewise, a significant number of national museums across the country, including the Smithsonian and all presidential museums and libraries, have already closed their doors to help support community health and wellbeing.
At this time, we are uncertain of how long the Museum will be closed and will closely monitor national, state, and local advisories to determine when it is appropriate to reopen. All public programs and events scheduled during the closure will be cancelled or postponed; BBs Stage Door Canteen, The American Sector and Jeri Nims Soda Shop will also temporarily cease operations. The Higgins Hotel & Conference Center will remain open to guests at this time.
We recognize that the Museum provides an important outlet for inspiration and reflection, which seems more important now than ever. Our institution provides a wide range of free online resources which will remain available during the temporary closure of our physical campus. Our website features oral histories, archival images, links to our podcasts, digital collections, and other digital content which we will continue to update throughout our closure. You can also follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Livestream, and YouTube.
We greatly appreciate everyones flexibility and patience as we navigate this unprecedented circumstance together and we thank you for your continued support of The National WWII Museum.
It’s more dangerous for your daughter to drive a car.
That’s a shame. We’ll have to console ourselves at Commander’s Palace.
Great for them! Risk for healthy youth is very low. Enjoy the freedom.
great post.
Tell her not to go.
Beg her not to go.
Plenty of 20 somethings in Iran have died. Plenty of 20 somethings in China and Italy have died. Don't rely on Chinese numbers or some false sense of security one thinks they can derive from them.
Email her this picture of this 23 yr old beautiful woman from Iran who was a member of the national soccer team.
You should have posted this question on the thread where the smarter FReepers are hanging out, the Coronavirus Live Thread. You'd be far more likely to get intelligent, thoughtful replies with relevant data to help you, rather than most of what I've read here.
I had a vacation in NOLA last November. Dine at The Court of Two Sisters in the Quarter. Splendid service and terrific menu.
COVID-19 has not killed any healthy adults in the USA.
In fact, children and young adults world wide appear to have exceptionally high resistance to COVID.
King County (Seattle) is the current epicenter for COVID infections in the USA.
When they decided to close public schools yesterday, not even one school age student was infected.
When the University of Washington also decided to close yesterday, not even one student was infected.
My only worry would be what if the plane gets quarantined? Imagine sitting in a plane for days?
What are you talking about? Multiple airport screeners have been diagnosed with it and there is plenty of reason to believe that both airports and airlines are petrie dishes full of just those types of crowds the country is shutting down to try to keep people out of. Social distancing is supposed to be key to slowing this down and unnecessary travel is simply selfish at this point.
Baloney. More people will become ill and stressed out from the blind paranoia that has been ginned up by the MSM, than will EVER be infected will Wuhan Flu.
Must bring toilet paper as carry-on...
You are an idiot on this topic—for whatever reason.
And you’re a psycho paranoid. So there.
