The is the Bill that the President and Congress has put forth with support from the President and congress.

I hope some of the smart Freepers will read through this. I see sexual assault stuff mentioned and what appears to me to be funding for 'reproductive' issues.

Something seems off to me with my limited capacity for understanding what they are actually proposing.

“...other purposes...”

Seems to cover just about anything.

It’s pure government junk. GOP and DNC act like they are different. This crisis is ready made for government at the expense of people. The crisis is meant to remove the President and the GOP is a willing accomplice.

Look at the sponsor Nita Lowey has had her snout in the trough since 1989. Has never had a real job but is worth $42 million from her husband's assets. We're talking uber 'rat.

It will be of little avail to the people, that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood; if they be repealed or revised before they are promulgated, or undergo such incessant changes that no man, who knows what the law is to-day, can guess what it will be to-morrow. Law is defined to be a rule of action; but how can that be a rule, which is little known, and less fixed? -- James Madison, Federalist Papers 62

Why point out ‘family’, when any American citizen could get this virus?

With paid sick leave for two weeks I’ll have to let my employees go. I can’t afford to pay two weeks of sick leave. I can afford to work alone for five months.

I may be misunderstanding this, but I think you can apply to have those 14 days paid by the federal coronavirus emergency fund. Kind of like the way FEMA gives grants to people in disaster zones. Like I said, I may be all wrong.

You have to pay the employee and the make a claim, and the claim has to be approved. I’m not in an industry that such claims are a priority. And it’s likely that the benefit will be extended. So I will still be better off laying off my employees before the virus hits

Yep, The National Emergency (Bailout), should be by verified application for hardship, then automatic deposit per individual. Extension based on employment status.

FEMA does not ‘GIVE’ grants to people in disaster situations. They provide grants to cities and entities, but not individuals except temporary rent/housing assistance but it is awful what the offer. I was impacted with major loses and FEMA was nice, but sent me to SBA disaster relief and they offered me a ‘loan’.

In my opinion, after a quick glance commodities market should skyrocket, tens of millions of parents in this country do not know how to feed their children breakfast and lunch (Conditined by Federal and State governments), businesses could be stressed but not much you can do against pandemics or national hysteria this Bill is reacting to, and money still grows on trees in the US Capital building/have no problem accumulating debt on the backs of future generations/driving purchasing power down to the fraction of a penny at this rate.
