Yesterday's thread is here: http://freerepublic.com/focus/chat/3823939/posts?page=1301
“At this point, speculating about utility cutoffs is irresponsible and really does qualify as fearmongering.”
I would mostly agree, but there will be some degree of hindrance to normal routine outages and maintenance due to added precautions in quarantine zones.
Gloves and masks mandatory at plants will help contain the virus in those places. Won’t stop it, but will slow it down a lot.
YMMV.

“1 Year Supply of Toilet paper
So if you wanted to store ahead a one-year supply of toilet paper at 2 rolls per week (for preparedness), youre looking at about 100 rolls per person (about 8 12-packs or 4 cases of 24).”
https://lite987.com/how-much-toilet-paper-do-we-actually-use-in-a-month/
“normal” roll of toilet paper - not one of those double rolls you can buy.
So a twelve pack is going to last three months - for one person. A family of four will need about 16 rolls for a month.”
Same here. Been meaning to do a serious Spring cleaning for a few years now. Happening this year for a couple of reasons, wuhan being one.
I am not sure you understand.
Here are the numbers.
Let us say you have 100 employees who are critical.
We know from international statistics that 60 of them can be infected (even with full spread in the facility).
Of those 60 only 9 will be sick enough to require hospitalization and have to be moved from the premises.
Of them 1 or 2 will die.
Those are the numbers.
The plant can suck it up with 91 people working—especially since a few more folks can be brought in if needed.
No there there.
Some people who recover from the coronavirus might be left with ‘20 to 30%’ less lung function, and gasping for breath when they walk quickly, Hong Kong doctors said.
I still have to go to work every day. Or else not enough income. Might as well shop as well as ride the subway.
What a good idea.
The economy tanked when every sports and entertainment venue announced they were shutting things down. People took that serious.
Luckily, some of us were out of their way as they ravaged the TP aisles.
I saw those big women fighting over TP. I’ve seen the way some big women look little thin guys like me up and down. Note to self: never get a barcode tattoo. I am nacho little covid quarantine cuddle companion.
Having a full pantry helps in not having to shop before $$$$ property tax is due.
US cases:
2496 confirmed
51 deaths
12 recovered
Deaths as a percentage of ALL cases: 2%
Deaths as a percentage of COMPLETED cases: 81%
I hope so...
That and Frozen 2 has lesbians. Knowing all the kids will be at home, big chance to indoctrinate.
Never let a good crisis go to waste
Why hasn’t any other country gone dark yet?
I am looking at new state numbers—
Louisiana up to 54 positives
Brilliant. Right after I filled the freezer.
Lookner - UK cases went up 40% in one day. Deaths double.
Trump needs to revisit banning UK.
Lookner repeating from yesterday:
47 out of the first 71 employees tested at the LifeCare nursing home in Washington have tested positive for coronavirus
—
This is what maximum exposure looks like—66% infected.
Not only did it tell people that it was serious but entertainment is a huge portion of our economy.
It wasnt our below the radar prepping.
It may need to be bumped up with so many new cases overnight in the UK.
He just banned th UK and Ireland today.
This uniqueness also dramatically increased the construction and operating costs of nuclear power plants. If that was required of natural gas power plants, their construction and operating expenses would treble.
And the requirement for such uniqueness for nuclear power plants is entirely political. The only real factors applying here are those due to concerns about flooding and earthquakes.
