LT is out today.
Yesterday's thread is here:

“IMHO the numbers themselves were irrelevant to me...Military quarantine of 11M people, digging up the secondary and tertiary roads to enforce that...Wow, when have you ever seen THAT before?!”
Yep, agree. Add to that the cremations going 24/7, the near-shutdown of China’s economy, plus the vectors shooting out from Wuhan and showing up around the world (in other words, it took a lot of infected people in Wuhan to cause Wuhan-linked infections to start popping up in multiple countries around the world).
We saw it, processed it, and responded to it. Others, many here, figured that ‘government’ would save them and protect their money in the stock market. We knew government could not ‘save them’ - there are limits as to what government can do...we were going to be cut loose and on our own through this, just as in China.
“As long as...I dont think well see unusual power outages, but I do think the normal ones will last just slightly longer if they affect a quarantined area due to the extra prep the repair guys will (sometimes) have to do.”
I know, tell me about it. I do have some backup generator capability, if really needed for my refrigerators/freezers, so I can take a few weeks of power being down, if needed. But if we do get there...there’s going to be a lot to deal with!
“Dont get the flu or have a heart attack in Seattle...And that knee replacement will be next year.”
Let’s not put out false information. Based on earlier pandemics, knee surgery will likely not be available until 2022 or maybe even 2023.
“I found the pool shock Id bought a cpl years ago when we were threatened with another cane...I could use that if things got dodgy with the water supply.”
I have some of that, but I’d rather not use it. Last week I went to Home Depot and they had bleach front-and-center. Not sure if they still have it. The thing was, their bleach (per the label) was bottled about 5 days before I bought it, so I was a happy camper!
And that was replacement bleach from a month ago - I’m actually at the point of rotating out supplies to keep them fresh (of course I kept the old bleach).
In any case, I do expect some ‘disruption’ in our water supply, due to unavailability of chemicals, or replacement parts for their treatment and distribution plants...but I should be good on that too.
Iran reports 1,289 new cases of coronavirus and 85 new deaths, raising total to 11,364 cases and 514 dead
and like this virus, the msm and experts blew it out of proportion. I remember hearing every single digital clock was going to quit working. didn’t make sense since they don’t keep track of the year.
Geez, I better get busy on the rest of our shopping
Probably going to be end of April.
not good
Spain has reports 812 new cases of coronavirus and 24 new deaths, raising total to 3,958 cases and 91 dead
well, I was responding to you, so, it came automatically :)
I was a fear monger warning people here in the late 90s.
It's telling how effectively China acted, compared to the CDC, which used it as a "dump Drumpf" moment. All involved in the CDC should be sentenced to Leavenworth for life, or they and their families sent to Qom or Wuhan.
I know the store. Just across the bridge, all targets, Cubs and fleet farm are wiped out of TP AND meds. Bread, canned goods, and other foods starting to get cleaned out.
“COVID-19s slower spread continues”
I am hoping we follow South Korea example and not Italy example. The problem we have here is a good part of the population keeps comparing it to a flu. Hopefully there is enough us to treat it like South Korea did.
South Korea it is taking 30 days for it to die down, the virus did not spread country wide.
South Korea vs Italy: The outbreak started at the same time. Italy did not practice social distancing, Italy cases are double South Korea and Death rate is 10x of South Korea. Italy outbreak will last as long as Wuhan 51 days.
Our local Cub Foods supermarket in Anoka County in the MN outer suburbs has pallets and pallets of TP blocking the aisles. Nobody was buying it as far as I could tell.
I’m finding it very interesting to see what people are buying in the panic and prep. Seems to vary just by a few miles. I wonder what the Cub and Target on Broadway look like.
“I read earlier that Patient Zero in New Rochelle, the lawyer, is in a coma now.”
He was on 50 years old too.
BREAKING: Spain’s health ministry says number of cases of coronavirus has risen to 4,209 with 120 dead, or 1,063 new cases and 53 new deaths since midnight
Netherlands reports 190 new cases of coronavirus and 5 new deaths, raising total to 804 cases and 10 dead
