“Europe...freedom of movement...there can be no crackdown here.”
Just wait a few weeks...
Everyone around here is cautious, wary, while still maintaining routines. We continue to attend Spring Training baseball, where Purell is strategically located throughout the stadium. MLB players have stopped signing autographs. We left a game early because someone nearby had a persistent cough. I was disgusted that someone would expose the public to that nasty cough. That evening, we learned about the first COVID-19 case locally.
Very much reminds me of watching a storm develop in the Atlantic, waiting and wondering whether it will grow into a nasty hurricane, and whether it will disrupt our lives here. Definitely stocked up on dark chocolate and the rest of storm supplies have been replenished a couple of months early this year. Fortunately, we have the annual preps down to a routine.
South Korea seems to be showing us that the virus is FAR more widespread**
except South K is still accepting flights from China which skews their numbers

seriously i do not see that this is any worse than H1N1 was and there was no panic around that. The only difference I can tell is media over reaction. If we start seeing bodies in the streets ill change my mind but this has likely been here for weeks to months and the apocalypse hasnt happened yet
Amtrak must have had a call from someone on the Hill.
Good point about prepping—always stock up on your favorite foods—and no skimping.
(I even keep a stock on caviar on hand—might as well go first class. ;-) )
You are on the front lines—so you will be the first to know for sure..
The only ones boarding would be like Agnes’ relative.
Most of our soldiers survived WW2.
Yes...chocolate and red wine.
Basic provisions....right?
I told mr. mm that I was more concerned about the economic ramifications than the virus itself.
Ive talked to people who are scared to death of this thing.
20-20 next segment on Americans stocking up on supplies—that should be amusing...
Pandemic virus hunters worthless segment without actually going building to building in Wuhan, in our opinion.
Just turned the 20/20 special on.
My wife’s uncle came back from WWII with a case of PTSD that wouldn’t quit—hit the bottle _hard_ for the rest of his life and couldn’t work because of it—a total lush...but yeah, he survived.
and then there’s vietnam that did a real trip on the minds of Vets
Definitely! We even stocked up on batteries just in case the Singapore and China battery imports are embargoed. Very much like storm preps. We are storm prep pros.
Hubby has an uncle that had serious PTSD after Korea.
Was never the same after that. In and out of institutions for the rest of his life.
Up to 320 cases reported in US per 2020—big jump from yesterday (around 200)—so testing is starting to happen.
