How old are Pelosi and Nadler again?

Any other fossils we need to be concerned about (e.g. Mitch McCuckold whose wife is from China, or DIFiChiSpy?)

Half the Congress? ;-)

Most are in safe districts where they have been there for decades.

Prayers up for you. It is one thing to examine this as some board game on how to survive. Entirely something else as we will all have to deal with it in real life in the weeks ahead. For us all it will be a disruption to some degree. To many it will be being sick and isolated. I can’t imagine how that must be for you. (I recall getting sick in college, and just wishing I could ring the little bell and my mother would come running!)

I’m glad that you were able to see the love of your life through the window. Our neighbors were telling us of how they had been under quarantine at home twice. Once for hepatitis, the other with the measles. Grandma brought them meals. They all survived, as will most of us.

Difficult times - but hang in there and hope you are feeling better soon!

Cuomo has that look about him that says ‘dog that caught the UPS truck’.

He wanted the job? Now he’s got it!

Cruise ships, Pence, require screening before and after cruise ships. Testing to be required on ships.

“It seems the the 10,000 person dinner in Wuhan that aided the spread worldwide was a large conference hall type room.”

I could be off...and it’s also possible that a good number of the people at that dinner were already infected - as it seems half the city was infected at its worst point. (well, maybe not quite half - but huge amounts of people)

Bali follows East Java in turning away MV Viking Sun cruise ship over coronavirus fears

Komang Erviani

The Jakarta Post

Denpasar, Bali / Sat, March 7, 2020 / 06:06 am

The Bali administration has decided to abort a plan to welcome the MV Viking Sun cruise ship and its passengers to the resort island on Sunday, as authorities prioritize public health amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The 800 tourists from the United States and Australia aboard the cruise ship, which was initially scheduled to dock at Bali’s Benoa Port on Sunday, will therefore not be able to set foot on the island.

Bali Governor I Wayan Koster announced the decision following a meeting with relevant authorities in the provincial capital of Denpasar on Friday.

“We had to make a decision on whether we would allow [the cruise ship] to dock or not, and decided to scrap [the plan],

“‘However, the risk is considered lower on aircraft because of the use of high efficiency particulate air filters, which are effective in capturing more than 99 per cent of airborne microbes in filtered air.’”

Viruses aren’t microbes.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microorganism

All the airlines have to do is simply NOT OPERATE their Recirculation Fans - then they wouldn’t even need filters (since all air would be brought in fresh). The plane will fly fine without them...just a bit more fuel. We’re in the middle of a worldwide Pandemic (regardless of what China tells the WHO to call it), and they can’t even shut off the stupid fans.

“One thing I have learned in reading about this stuff is that medical professionals always assume the worst in dealing with a communicable disease, and the burden of proof is on the person who wants to claim the risk is less in some way.”

I’m sure you’d agree that they threw that rule out the door, once China demanded they do so.

“Pence “common sense” elderly stay off cruise ships”

The cruise industry was finished before that statement...Pence only accelerated it.

Above is the link to the Port of Long Beach Website. The image on their home page probably reflects normal conditions. The stacks are about as tall as in your video - but the place is PACKED with cargo containers. Your video is probably 20% of a typical day.

Saw the video you posted with the empty port.

Just went shopping several places and the only bare shelf I saw was Clorox wipes. Couldn’t find disposable bowls, but that could have been because of something else.

I see those huge Costco cartons in the recycling area, though, so people are stocking up.
