A customer at an Olive Garden restaurant in Indiana on Saturday loudly demanded a server who is not black, an employee and an observer said. A manager acquiesced, and is no longer employed by the company.
Amira Donahue, a hostess at the restaurant in Evansville in southwestern Indiana, said the customer, a white woman, complained to a manager about her and the other black hostess working during Saturday's dinner rush.
"She made comments about me to my co-workers concerning my race and saying that I should work at a strip club instead," Donahue told NBC News on Wednesday. "She asked if I'm even black and if I am from here."
Donahue, 16, said the customer who was with a handful of other people, including two children was seated at a table that had a black server, at which point she became particularly irate.
The customer then screamed her demand for a nonblack server to a manager, who complied, Donahue said.

So the customer is always right and all people must be served - until it ends up in a Twitter tantrum and then the manager gets fired for not standing up for social justice.
Two wrongs dont make a right here and I seriously question the Facebook caring citizens story. The whole thing smells setup.
Like maybe the "customer" worked for some "civil rights" organization?
Counter-point: Indiana.
LOL- good one-
That you are exaggerating seriously?
In car business for 26 years. Had several blacks ask for a black salesman. Always went and got them one. Guess that makes me stupid?
Had one guy I worked with. Was having a bad day. Showed and drove several cars with a black couple on a particularly hot day. After about 2 hours of this they told him that “they wanted a black salesperson”. He told them, quote “fine. I don’t feel like selling a Nigger a car today anyway.” So, they complained. And he got fired.
“That you are exaggerating seriously?”
No that chicken bone he tried to swallow was meant for me.
“The customer who committed the ‘hit-and-run’ fled the scene without being interviewed.”

I’d say it’s more like the manager saw a train wreck coming down the tracks, decided it would be a really good idea to jump on board and threw himself on to the tracks. Intensive stupidity at work. A real “social” Darwin Award winner.
Take it easy on Pete... he just had his dreams crushed.
It also crossed my mind that she may have asked for a server who could understand her order and/or one that she could understand.
Sometimes there are language barriers related racial and cultural differences.
I would have thrown her out too. Why would you want to please that particular customer-—so she’ll come back and abuse your employees again?
I sense a hoax.....
I agree, very hard to believe.
It's an election year - gotta keep the blacks on the Democrat plantation.
“Let’s make the loony person happy so they’ll eat their spaghetti and just go away.”
No doubt that was the thought process.
Well, you go to a Chinese eatery you get a Chinese server. You go to a Mexican Eatery you get a Mexican server.
Is it too much to ask for an italian server in an italian eatery?
Yeah, Bull Sh*t. this is a set up, an act, Part 2 is coming soon.
I have not heard of something like this happening in this country since the 1950 and then only in the deep south.
Why?
______________
This is the Democrats way of calling all of their former minions back to the party. It used to be that every POTUS election cycle would see movies, documentaries, discussion groups showing non-stop of the JFK presidency and assassination. A reminder of the party loyalist of their founding activation. Now they are doing to the Black community. ‘See! There are still racist out there that only we (democrats) can protect you from’. Black history month is nothing but talking about the sins of the past and not where we are now.
Democrats need to keep racism alive and active.
If the server files a lawsuit Olive Garden should track down the customer and investigate her social politics and even if she has a personal relationship with the victim.
I don't generally believe in conspiracies but Olive Garden needs to investigate before they capitulate.
If the customer paid with her own credit card, I'd give her name to lawyers and ask them to look into her social and political history.
Before they plead guilty and agree to a payout (if there's a lawsuit) they should investigate every contingency.
If a cigar is just a cigar they'll have to pay. If not they can expose the scam.
What are they leaving out of this story?
