We could use some really good aps here. Showing infected areas. Strains of infections. Quaratine warnings. Best disease free path. Etc. There may be super hot spots with very high virulence strains. Avoid warnings for that would be very valuable.

Zerohedge is pretty iffy at best. Not that it’s a stretch for a COSTCO store to run out of stuff, but I would never rely on them as a source.

Zerohedge is an interesting website.

The articles cover the full range from brilliant and original to stupid and insane.

Caveat emptor!

I found hand sanitizer at 6am at store after I saw the person stocking leave with the boxes as I approached

there was 1 and a lot of empty rows beside it of items they are out of

No one else had any.

Pocket sanitizer still at Bath and Body works, though.

Thanks. I've seen other papers saying the same thing, but this goes deeper.

I bought some Iodophor (hat tip to a Freeper, maybe JL?) for disinfectant. It comes in concentrated form and you add a teaspoon or whatever to a gallon of water. It is used to clean brewing equipment and other uses.

But with some bacteria/viruses it too works better at lower concentrations.

I read zero hedge. They are usually glass half empty types of articles. It is a good source of info that you can then try to confirm elsewhere.

Meh.
Vendors have an efficient stocking schedule… then people go nuts and they have to change it. That takes a little time (a few days maybe- maybe quicker).
Currently shortages are just a matter of stocking, not supply.

Heck, it’s good that people are ‘going nuts’ a little early.
Makes for less demand later.

There is something we can figure out on the Italy numbers that is not shown.

We know that roughly 15% of folks infected require hospitalization.

That means that there are at least (414 + 148) x 7 = 3,934 total cases, very close to Italy’s number for total cases.

Conclusion: Italy is going an excellent job of testing.

Second conclusion: CDC could have used the Italian method of testing and saved several weeks.

You may be MEH about it but people who need it can’t find it. I told a lady today who needs it for work that she should look into making it . She looked at it online and thanked me and went looking for the supplies.

Pence says we’ll have a million by the end of the week... and that won’t be enough.
Bet he’s right on both counts.
